Hello everyone! I am back again with yet another article related to Nintendo. In this article, I am going to talk about the information of my Nintendo systems that I currently have right now. The systems I will be talking about would be the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Game Boy, Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), Game Boy Pocket, Nintendo 64 (N64), Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo CameCube, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo Wii. Nintendo Entertainment System
Release date: 1985



The Nintendo Entertainment System is a third generation 8-bit video game console that first launched in Japan on July 15, 1983. In 1985, the NES was released in Australia, Brazil, Europe, and North America. In Japan, the NES was known as the Famicom. The NES was able to play with the ROM cartridge also known as the game pak. On October 18, 1985, Nintendo had released eighteen launch titles and they are: Super Mario Bros., Excitebike, Duck Hunt, Clu Clu Land, Ice Climber, Pinball, Donkey Kong Jr. Math, Baseball, Tennis, 10-Yard Fight, Hogans Alley, Gyromite, Golf, Stack-Up, Kung Fu, Wild Gunman, Mach Rider, and Wrecking Crew. The top two best selling NES games is Super Mario Bros. with 40.23 million and Super Mario Bros. 3 with 18 million.

Game Boy
Release date: 1989



The Game Boy is a fourth generation handheld game console. The Game Boy was released in Japan on April 21, 1989. The Game Boy was also released in North America on August of 1989 and in Europe in the year 1990. The Game Boy features a directional pad, select, start, A, and B buttons and the color of the screen was only in black and white. Nintendo sold 118.7 million Game Boys worldwide. The best selling games of the Game Boy was Tetris with 33 million and Pokemon Red, Blue, and Green with 28.08 million combined.

Super Nintendo Entertainment System
Release date: 1991



The Super Nintendo Entertainment System is a fourth generation 16-bit video game console. The SNES was released in Japan on November 21, 1990. The SNES was also released in North America on August 13, 1991, in Europe on April 11, 1992, and in Australia on July 3, 1992. In Japan, the SNES was known as the Super Famicom. The SNES was able to play with a ROM cartridge which is also known as the game pak. Nintendo has sold over 49.1 million Super Nintendos. The best selling SNES game was Super Mario World with 20 million.

Game Boy Pocket
Release date: 1996



Nintendo had released the Game Boy Pocket in the year of 1996. The Game Boy Pocket is much smaller than the regular Game Boy and it requires fewer batteries. The Game Boy Pocket took only two AAA batteries which gave you ten hours of game play. The Game Boy Pocket had a more black and white colored screen than the regular Game Boy. The Game Boy Pocket came with various types of colors than the regular Game Boy which only had the white color. The Game Boy Pocket was a remake of the regular Game Boy and it played the same games that was originally released for the regular Game Boy.

Nintendo 64
Release date: 1996



The Nintendo 64 was a fifth generation 64-bit video game console. The N64 was released in Japan on June 23, 1996. The N64 was also released in North America on September 29, 1996, and in Europe on March 1, 1997. The N64 works with the ROM cartridge which is also known as a game pak. The N64 was the first Nintendo system to ever play up to four players. The N64 sold over 32.9 million worldwide. The best selling game of the N64 was Super Mario 64 with 11 million.
Game Boy Color
Release date: 1998



The Game Boy Color is a fifth generation handheld game console. Nintendo had released the Game Boy Color on October 21, 1998 in Japan, November 19, 1998 in North America, November 23, 1998 in Europe. The Game Boy Color is slightly taller than the Game Boy Pocket but also smaller than the regular Game Boy. Nintendo has sold over 118.7 million Game Boy Colors worldwide. There are games made just for the Game Boy Color but it can also work with the games of the regular Game Boy. The top four best selling games of the Game Boy Color would be Pokemon Gold and Silver with 14.51 million, The Legend Of Zelda: Oracle Of Ages and Oracle Of Seasons with 3.96 million.

Game Boy Advance
Release date: 2001



The Game Boy Advance is a sixth generation 32-bit handheld game console. The Game Boy Advance was released in Japan on March 21, 2001. The Game Boy Advance was also released in North America on June 11, 2001, Australia and Europe on June 22, 2001, and The Peoples Republic Of China (Except for Hong Kong) on June 8, 2004. The Game Boy Advance uses a cartridge and it will also work with the games of the Game Boy Color and the regular Game Boy. Nintendo has sold over 16.88 million in Japan, 41.64 million in North America, and 81.06 million worldwide. The best selling games of the Game Boy Advance is Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire with 13 million combined and Pokemon Emerald with 6.32 million.

Nintendo GameCube
Release date: 2001



The Nintendo GameCube is a sixth generation video game console. The GameCube was released in Japan on September 14, 2001. The GameCube was also released in North America on November 18, 2001, in Europe on May 3, 2002, and in Australia on May 17, 2002. Nintendo has sold over 21.74 million GameCubes worldwide. The GameCube was the first Nintendo system to ever work with a game disc. The best selling game of the GameCube is Super Smash Bros. Melee with 7.09 million.

Nintendo DS
Release date: 2004



The Nintendo DS is a seventh generation handheld game console. The DS was released in North America on November 21, 2004. The DS was also released in Japan on December 2, 2004, Australia on February 24, 2005, and in Europe on March 11, 2005. The DS was the first Nintendo handheld console to ever have two screens on the handheld. The DS works with the Nintendo DS game card and the Game Boy Advance cartridge. The games of the Game Boy Color and the regular Game Boy will not work on the DS. The DS has a wireless connection known as the Wi-Fi connection. Nintendo also has an online service known as the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Nintendo has sold over 70.6 million units worldwide. The top two best selling games of the DS is Nintendogs with 18.67 million and New Super Mario Bros. with 14.16 million.

Nintendo Wii
Release date: 2006



The Nintendo Wii is a seventh generation video game console. The Wii was first available on November 19, 2006. The Wii uses a 12 cm Wii optical disc and it also works with a 8 cm Nintendo GameCube game disc. The system storage for the Wii uses a 512 MB internal flash memory, secure digital card, and a Nintendo GameCube memory card. The connections that the Wii uses would be Wi-Fi connection, Bluetooth, 2 x USB 2.0, and a LAN adaptor. Their online service would be the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection, WiiConnect24, Virtual Console, and the Wii menu. Nintendo has sold over 24.45 million units worldwide. The top two best selling games is Wii Sports with 21.56 million and Wii Play with 11.51 million.
