The critically acclaimed and award-winning children's series on PBS. First shown in 1969, the main point of the series were the "street scenes" where a varied cast of human characters would interact with puppet characters known as Muppets in various storylines. The street scenes were broken up by skits such as songs, cartoons, and films which all had a different educational concept. The show has dealt with topics other children's shows have not such as the death of Mr Hooper in 1983. The show airs in 120 countries and has made 20 international versions.
