Fever(1989)

A police sergeant in South Australia retrieves a suitcase of cash after a drug dealer who he was pursuing is killed in a car crash. He reports only the car crash and the fatality, despite the suspicions of his colleague, a constable. When the sergeant returns home, then he is attacked by his duplicitous younger wife and her shallow lover, a mining engineer, after he attempts to strangle the latter following his catching them committing adultery. Thinking he is dead, they take him to the disused mine outside town, put him in there and go home, not knowing that he is simply unconscious and when he comes round, then he decides to go after both them and the money.
