Chariots of Fire(1981)

In the year 1924, two runners are looking to be in the Olympics. One of them is a Jew named Harold Abrahams (Ben Cross), who races to prove his worth to society. The other is a Christian named Eric Liddell (Ian Charleson), who runs for the Glory of God. The movie depicts their friendship from their first meeting all the way up to the Olympics.
