The Langoliers(1995)

While en route to Boston, a handful of travelers on an airplane awaken to find the majority of the people on the plane have vanished. When they finally land on the ground, they find the airport's abandoned too.

Based on the Stephen King short that appears in "Half Past Midnight," "The Langoliers" debuted as an ABC miniseries in 1995. It's generally considered to be the worst King-penned adaption of his own story -- but not so much because of the story or performances, but for the laughable CGI-monster effects.
