Terrible addition to the series. It was just too outlandish, and unbelievable. The suspension of disbelief fails to kick in with this. A step too far. Only worth a look to see Gene Hackman (Luthor) bickering with his on-screen nephew.

I disagree. . . .Number Three was the worst one by FAR!!! I love Richard Pryor, but come on! Horrible acting, a lame plot, and very few laughs. A total waste of time. At least Four had an interesting message against nuclear power. And a villain with Shadoe Stevens hair, too!

Couldn't agree more. This is the worst Superman film of all time! The sad part is that Christopher Reeve wrote the script. You'd think that this would've made it good. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. I enjoyed the first three movies (even some of the cheesiness in Superman III), but this one was TERRIBLE! Thank God they gave us Superman Returns, which does well at paying homage to the originals from the 80s.
