One of the biggest flops, indeed. In fact, by December of 1979, network execs at NBC actually began writing to Fred Silverman, who had actually been the head programming honcho at the network for just over a year and asked him to pull the plug on the not-so-popular program. The final episode didn't air until May of 1980 just as season sweeps were beginning, and NBC pulled in what is now its second-worst programming ratings in network history, second only to the following season, 1980-81.
