I really liked this series. I've read the book and seen the movie and they were both wonderful. I think the key to appreciating the series is to realize that although it has the same name and is roughly the same story in the beginning, it is also its own separate entity. I think people make the mistake of thinking it has to be exactly like the book or exactly like the movie. But anyway, the animation was a little different and I liked that. It's a great show.

i enjoyed the animation of this show; i learned how to draw rabbits from it. i always watched it when it was on, but i found it difficult to follow. if i had a chance to see it now i think i'd appreciate it more since i'm older.

Yes there was. It was mostily shown in the UK and Canada in English, with a few of the episodes released on DVD in the US, the whole series (all 39 episodes) is avaliable on DVD from the UK. The Box Set though is expensive.
