The problem was, having gone to the moon in the pilot movie, where do you go from there?

Harry Broderick was played by Andy Griffith. I really liked this show and hated to see it canceled.

Hard to believe, but I must be among the few who actually remember watching this show as a teen. But even then I could see why it didn't last long on TV. Only a team of network suits could've come up with a hunk of preprocessed, cultured cheese like this. Regardless, the series somehow managed to invoke some sort of suspension of disbelief at the possibility that it was possible for a tight-knit adhoc team of former rocket scientists to build their own spacecraft and launch it from the same vast repository of waste where the parts were acquired. After watching for a year, though, I grew weary of it, as I'm sure others who followed the series did, since the series was starting to veer away from action plots by the following season. So eventually the network had to give it the ax. ABC even reaired the 2-hour movie pilot some time after the cancellation of the series.
