Has anyone ever noticed that in the early days of S.T. if you pay attention during the intro you'll notice that the smoking part of the SOUL TRAIN and the part producing the smoke closely resembles a _____________ (You fill in the blank) Pay attention dirty minded PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD...!

I believe the original intro was TSOP which stood for, " The Sound Of Philadelphia" The song and the group shared the same name. " People all over the world....it's time to get doooowwwn"

Soul Train was the show that reminded you that Saturday Morning cartoons were over for the week.

It's cool to see the evolution of the intros.

I listened to this intro over and over and I still didn't get tired of listening to this. The Soul Train line is still going strong at some parties I went to in college.

Soul Train's A-Comin' is my favorite too. Real hard synth base line and vocals from O'Bryan.

I was born in 1983 and i've been watching "The Best of Soul Train". I really get hype to "Soul Train's A-Comin". To me that's the best Soul Train theme music all time.

Well, I wasn't born in 1983, but now that I've been watching "The Best of Soul Train" lately, I've seen this intro 3 times out of the last 5 weeks and I actually like this intro.

oh yeah...I also remember the opening theme with the same music, only it's a little jazzier, and the soul train gets up on its back wheels and starts dancing :) I'd be so happy if I could see that again!

I remember In Living Color did a a parody of this one so outrageously good, OOOOOOOOLD TRAIN!!

where in the famous Soul Train Line the elderly would dance with walkers, canes, wheelchairs and then the coffin! And then a dubbed elderly person would get out of the wheelchair and start break dancing, and the famous Don was like 92 efter having a heart attack some EMTs would revive him by juicing-him-up, classic I tell ya!

This show was beyond cool when I was little :D I always loved that dancing train cartoon. It was great with Don Cornelius, now it sucks.
