I can remember playing sick in order to stay out of school to watch Captain Kangaroo. I heard he never won any type of award for his show..which really upset me. I even emailed TV Land to see if they would re-air his shows..needless to say I never recieved a response.

You see how the media can lie! I was told Captain Kangaroo died when I was 9 or so.

We need a better summary for this show.

I remember the show, as did my father-- it ran for a very long time.

Kevin Clash and his puppets were featured in later versions of the show, before he went to work for the Children's Television Workshop (now SesameWorkshop) on Sesame Street.

I was quite upset that Bob Keeshan lost the rights to the show and CBS began featuring a lame updated version of the show with a new Captain and new puppets.
