I remember watching this series while stuck in the hospital while I was 10. If there is a way to get the english dubs on dvd nonbootleg id like toknow where. Still a fan of the games too and waiting patiently for 6. But if anyone knows where to get this series id appreciate it.

The only thing I can remember is on one episode the main character was training in a lake/lagoon and saw the warrior woman-his teammate-bathing behind some bushes. She began chasing him, I think with her sword. It was so long ago, this is all I remember.

I honestly remember the day I discovered this 18 years ago when I woke up early one Saturday morning by accident... and I'm glad I did. I was totally hooked. But the one thing I loved about the series was Mokomoko... he grabbed my attention very fast, because he was so cute and adorable. If it wasn't for him or the series itself, I would not have known about Toriyama's works or his most popular series, Dragon Ball. And certainly I wouldn't have been a fan of Yajirobe (hence my username).

After an hour of searching I found the last episode!!
It's in japanese though, but still interesting!

Wow, this was my favorite as a kid, I was totally sucked into the story. I really want to know how it ended, but after episode 12 it would revert back to the beginning. I kept waking up predawn hoping for that last episode, which never came.

Holy hell, I didn't know they made a cartoon series of Dragon Warrior! They should have done it with Final Fantasy too.

I was like 6 yrs old. I just wish I could remember what the heck got me up so early in the morning to find that show. We had satellite, one of those huge black rotating dishes lol.

I was absolutely rabid for this show for a short time. I remember having so much trouble figuring out why I couldn't find it anymore after it was canceled (not knowing it was canceled). I also noticed that most of my friends didn't get the channel it came on, or they just didn't get up early enough. I remember having to get up at 5:00 in the morning for this show. I WOULD NOT miss it. I was sad to have never gotten to see the whole series and would still absolutely love to see it, dubbed english or not, if I can atleast get it with English subtitles so I can atleast know what's going on, I'd be cool with that...

Used to be you could get Episodes 1-13 all in English on DVD on Ebay. I dunno what happened but I don't see it there anymore.

The character designer was indeed Akira Toriyama, but the story is based on the Dragon Quest videogame series made by Yuji Horii. The japanese name is "Dragon Quest: Abel Yuusha"

Unfortunately for me, I never got a chance to see this since it never came on in Memphis.

The cartoon series was one of the best at the time. It had such a good script. Too bad I forgot most of the episodes.

judging by the animation, was it made by Akira Toriyama? (the guy who penned the first Dragonball series and up to the Cell Saga in DBZ comics)

I've played the first game not to long ago,and its as borring as hell, unlike final fantasy the first game just doesnt have enouth enemys, the overworlds to small, there aint enouth item's to find or weapons to buy or spell's to learn, the mesage speed is way to slow and you cant team up with more characters later in the game and to make matters worse theres the fact that every time you want to save your game you have to go back to the castle at the begining of the game,I dont mean to athend any other dragon warrior fans I've had a lot more kicks out of the game kings knight then with this one,but maybe the other 7 games are at least a better comeback I've only played the first, all in all dragon warrier 1 is not a game I would recommend for retro gamers.

I never caught the name of the show but I was fortunate enough to catch it in time. However, back then when anime wasn't too mainstream I noticed American networks viewing them early as 5 or 6 am. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the show while it lasted. ^_^

I always liked the "Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest" games, which was the BEST RPG series next to "Final Fantasy" at the time. However, I didn't know that they actually had a cartoon on it! Weird...

The dub of the show got killed off due to Saban not placing Akira Toriyama in the credits. Toriyama sued them which is why it was dis continued.
