Chuck Barris and the Gong Show. I loved this show as a kid and watched it everyday. I would have a pretend gong (a cymbal from my brothers drum set) and I would gong along with the judges. Chuck Barris was very entertaining as the host and some of the acts...forget about it! Good stuff.

Did anyone else ever wonder what ol' Chuck was smoking or taking just prior to taping? He always appears to be quite intoxicated. (If not, he was a GREAT actor.)

The original try-out cast offs of today's "American Idol" and "So you think you can dance"! What a riot!

We'll never truly know if Chuck Barris was indeed a CIA hitman as he claims in his biography. The show is a definite tongue-in-cheek take on the vaudeville tradition.

This show had a great concept, and yes everyone sucked ass' Brilliant garbage, but entertaining. I say on a re-run Wierd al Yankovich was on there, but unfortunately not as ametuer but as cast.
