I know it is very cliche to say this, but this show WAS truly ahead of its time. And I don't think it is an exaggeration at all to say that it was one of the best shows of the 1980's. I believe it may have stayed around much longer if it wasn't so linked with the Max Headroom character. At that time, Max had become played out.

I STILL remember watching this show as a budding 11-year-old artist and saying to myself, "this show is important." And I still believe it. It was bizzare, funny, intelligent, frightening, controversial, and socially and politically aware.

One of the greatest episodes of ANY show I've ever seen was on this show. If anyone remembers, it was the "Zik Zak Commercial" episode. And I still remember the first scene and how it affected me so deeply, along with the rest of the episode. Let's just say I started thinking about the mental and physical capabilities of advertising and how dangerous and pervasive it can become.

Everytime I see Matt Frewer (he's on the show "Eureka" now!) I always think back to that groundbreaking show, "Max Headroom."

Does anybody remember Max Headroom's talk show on Cinemax (before the Max Headroom series was ever even concieved)? That's where he first became famous. After the series failed, Cinemax brought back the talk show for a brief time. Since then, he hasn't been seen on TV since (that is, until the Sci-Fi Channel recently brought back the series).

I think Max Headroom is pretty good. While I might not approve of the incident involving the guy in a Max Headroom mask hijacking Chicago television stations in 1987, I still kinda thought the incident was funny.

Just imagine what could be done with today's computer technology. Max Headroom would look better than ever and could even be made full realistic CGI but give me the 80's live action version any day. It has been around twenty years or so since Max last appeared on tv. I think it is about time for a comeback considering 80's nostalgia is so popular right now. I wonder if Matt Frewer would be up for reprising his role as Max? I'd hope so.

I didn't know he had a show, I thought he was some sort of music video/mtv/commertial phenomena. But it's hard to think of the 80's with out thinking of Max!

This was as cyberpunk as TV ever got in my opinion. Far ahead of it's time with insights on today's culture that gives you the chills to think of how close we are to the world depicted in this series.

Personally, I am still waiting in fear for the coming of Blipverts.

I still can't believe that back then, this show used "cutting-edge" technology... Which, it did. But it still amuses me.
