After Battle of the Planets I had to go to school, in fact I couldn't even watch the end credits or I would be late.

I remember this being introduced to America in 1978 by Sandy Frank Productions. I had no idea at the time that it was from 5-6 years earlier in Japan, known as Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, and reedited for American audiences. I had always wondered why the animation with 7-Zark-7 seemed different from the rest of the anime, it seems that Sany Frank Productions made those additions - which didn't seem to bleand in with the rest of the show (in my opinion). Do yourself a favor and get the Japanese versions of this show, it's much better, and more action packed!

Used to watch it every day after school when I was in about the 5th grade. It's been so long, that if I were to watch the uncut versions today, I probably wouldn't notice.

Use to watch this every chance I got when I was little. I was about 6 when it first started to air on tv.

Now I own the original Japanese version on region 1 dvd.

If you love this show, watch it uncut and unedited, it's really awesome. Ninja Science Team Gatchaman is the full tiles of the show in Japan.

I was thirteen when this first aired and I remember it being the first time I really paid atention to the theme music as much as anything in a cartoon. I didn't know until today that it was an edited version that I was watching.

Battle Of The Planets was my favorite show as a kid back around 1980, when it used to air weekdays at 4:30. I had no idea there were different versions of it. This almost makes me want to start watching it all over again and see what I missed.

Actually nikem84 the japanese series was called "Gatchaman" and Sandy Frank Produced 'Battle
of the Planets' while Turner did 'G-Force' but they
were taken from 'Gatchaman' so you were right there.
licawolf Posted 7 years 5 months ago
I also remember the show being called G-Force. My brother and I loved this show so much.
    nikem84 Posted 7 years 8 months ago
i've only known this show as g- force. started watching it when i was in the 6, 7th grade. a little tidbit, g-force and battle of the planets are the same show which originated in japan and is know as gotchamon. it turns out that there are a at least a hundred shows of gotchamon. the the rights to one group of the show's episodes was bought by sally frank and the other half by turner broadcasting-hence the name difference.

I always figured the show should've been more violent...... figures it originally was. Even Yu Yu Hakusho's waay more violent then we saw on Adult Swim. This was such a cool show!!!
Gorbash Posted 8 years 11 months ago
Aw damn. A freind of mine has a really old G-force tape which one day we watched, I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard over that intro
