I used to watch this at night as a kid. I loved this show and like Benjanime I realize how corny some of the stuff is now that I'm older.

the show was fun to watch as a kid, but looking back now, some scenes and dialogue are pretty corny

I remember It used to come on at like 4 in the morning on MTV. I'd wake up just to watch it and then off to middle school I went. I'm 31 years old so It's weird that this show was much before my time yet was still great in the reruns.

I loved Speed Racer, it was my first anime.

I loved the Speed Racer cartoon when I was a boy. I don't see what's so hard to understand about a boy loving a race car driver

i have to admit, i like the original speed racer, but the animation is so goofy at times =/ . but whatever you do, avoid the new speed racer cartoon on the nicktoons channel. it's pure dookie

I admit that I hate Speed Racer but it seemed like when I was younger every family member's or friend's house that I went to had a son that would always be watching this crap!! I never understood it and frankly I doubt I ever will. Must be a pre-pubesant boy thing...

The new Speed Racer movie is going to be released in theater May 2008 and I want to watching it.

I always enjoyed speed racer. I used to come from school as a kid and watch this and Marine Boy.

I do laugh when the car goes flying off the road and blows up. Talk about censorship back then when today, they would have probably just had the car fall and that's it. Too violent for our little eyes >.>

I was never a fan of Speed Racer sadly, but I must admit, the Japanese Intro is cool.

Speed racer murders someone in the intro... no one could survive that crash. Yet he sleeps with a grin each day.

GOOD ANIME! I used to watch this all the time as a kid when they re-aired it back in 96', on Cartoon Network. (No, it wasn't '97 when it came back) The characters are quite memorable, each with their own interesting backgrounds and personalities and of course, the non-stop racing action is simply SUPERB!! Of course, the english voice dubbing may be a bit too quick for some viewers to catch, but this is no big deal at all. I always loved the "Speed Racer" theme and would even hum it sometimes! For those who don't know, the same creators behind "Mega Man" (believe it or not) actually created this show way, WAAAAAY back in the 60s! Just look how Racer X's character is so similar to Protoman's! It's nice to see the original Japanese theme here, but we also need the ENGLISH one too! Whoever can post that, it would be swell! "GO SPEED RACER! GO SPEED RACER! GO SPEED RACER GOOOOOOO!!!!"

Speed Racer was my favorite show as a kid. I used to set my alarm for 12:30am just so I could get up and watch it. Speed Racer was what sparked my interest in Japan, so, GO SPEED RACER!!!!
