I used to love The New Adventures of Batman when I was 6 years old in 1978. This cartoon is what got me into Batman in the first place. I always used to love Batman and Robin's colorful costumes and their vehicles and gadgets. I think this cartoon is a perfect way for little kids to get into Batman. And it's Kid Friendly for just that reason. Good news it's on DVD now and I had my DVD copy of this cartoon autographed by Adam West(Batman) hilmself. This is cartoon is a must for all Batfans and for the whole family to enjoy.

By the way I liked Batmite even though he was clumsy. And my favorite episode of this series was He Who Laughs Last where The Joker steals a train and kidnaps Robin in a boxcar and Robin gets out with a laser in his utility belt because also I like trains as well. Since this series I got into the other Batman cartoons including the recent 90's animated series the 60's TV show, the comics of course and the movies.

    Folks:

The intro that has been loaded and linked to this title is from the live-action Batman series from 1966, starring Adam West and Burt Ward. I believe "The New Adventures of Batman" was an animated show.

And to answer "basso's" comments: It wasn't the best version of the mythos, but it wasn't MEANT to be. It was meant to be campy and corny and take advantage of the kitschy feel of the times. The Batman of the comics (with some notable exceptions from time to time)was, and is, extraordinarily dark and driven. Not surprising, considering his origin. Give the comics a chance, ESPECIALLY NOW! Some MAJOR things are happening currently.

And the 1966 series DID mention the deaths of the Waynes, very briefly, in one episode.
