Funny, I very much so remember the opening sequence and song, but have absolutely no memory of the actual show itself. Maybe I never actually watched it.

I totally forgot about this show until i stumbled across this listing. Great show, the dessert of Saturday mornings. Another fine example of why weekend cartoons between 1983-1993 absolutely rocked.

Wasn't this the show that has closed caption on it even if you don't have closed caption on your tv?
    janhall47 Posted 5 years 4 months ago
Yes CBS Storybreak was hosted by Captain Kangaroo's Bob Keeshan and Malcolm Jamal-Warner from The Cosby Show. If you want CBS Storybreak to be on DVD, please put down your vote on tvshowsondvd.com
    Thank You

There is another one on here which shows the one from the 70's introduction. This intro here was the near last one before Captain O.G. eadmore started hosting it.

OMG! At 6 years old at the time,(now 28)I remember watching this as if I'd never see it again, while chomping down on Captain Crunch Cereal!
Caramelboo Posted 7 years 9 months ago
I used to watch this show. I especially loved the intro. I remember it still coming on when I was in college in the late 90's. I think Malcolm Jamal Warner was hosting it then, if I am not mistaken. It is of course gone now, like so many of my favorite shows. :(

My God. Can someone please invent a time machine so we can all go back to happy times? I love this show.

    I miss Saturday Mornings... :(

Being a bibliophile(read:nerd), any show about books was golden to me, and this one was one of my faves. I remember Captain Kangaroo hosted this!

Hey Anyone remember the onw with the Alien old woman robot who used hypnotic powers to control humans (usualy grown ups) and was weakened by water? remember that one?

Oh Bob Keeshan was IMHO the best host for the show!
    Toonhead83 Posted 8 years 2 months ago
Thanks for this. I really wanted to see this.

    About friggin' time!

Some of the scenes in the opening are the most awesome pieces of work I'v ever seen.
Harpsiccord Posted 8 years 3 months ago
Yes! I remember all of those! K.L.U.T.Z, and The monster's ring ("gremil of the monster's ring, change me to a monstrous thing" I think he said) and other ones like "Grinny" about that creepy robot nanny from outer space, and the one about the cat that has to watch over this girl and get her to find out that she's a witch... what else... I do remember the Cinderella asian version.

    Aww, I miss that show.

I have the very original intro to CBS Storybreak from 1985. I plan on sending it to Retro Junk sometime soon. After I find lots of old commercials, tv intros, and movie trailers.

Wow, I used to watch this when I was younger. I think we watched American Gladiators after it ended. It was the sucky part about Saturdays in the same way that Sold Gold, Dance Party USA, and Soul Train were - when they came on, it was time to tear away from the TV.

there was on where a kid was thrown into a different dimension where he switched places with a dinosaur kid, i remember that. had something to do with a solar eclipse. Anyway CBS Storybreak was a fond childhood memory for me, only one thing i hated about it. When it came on, you knew after it was over it was the end of cartoons that saturday.

I remembered the name of this show just two weeks ago. I couldn't find it because I always said "storytime" or "storybook." I used to kick back with my mac and cheese and watch this after the morning cartoons. I remember KLUTZ, How To Eat Fried Worms, one about a porcupine, and some others too...
jerbojones Posted 9 years 11 days ago
there was one called k.l.u.t.z. that was pretty cool about this kid in the future that wanted a robot and the one he got was a piece of junk. How to eat fried worms was a classic the book was pretty good too.
    robmon300 Posted 9 years 1 month ago
