ok did you know that Rue and Betty had worked together on the show Mama's Family, Then before that Rue and Bea Worked together on Maude, how ever Bea and Betty had never worked together before Golden Girls, and that none of them had ever worked with Estelle. I remeber when Golden Girls first came on, it came on ABC on saturdays, 8.p.m. where I was livingI love this show!! still do it was one of the best comedy/situations of the times, they got away with so much, that even some of the antics still apply today.

Dorothy was the cornerstone of The Golden Girls. She was the one that kept everyone grounded, and the opposites playing off of eachother worked so well, but in The Golden palace, a vital piece of the formula was missing. Betty White, Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty are terriffic and funny actresses in their own right, but when Bea Arthur left, it just wasn't the same. That being said, i did enjoy the Golden Palace, and if it had kept going maybe the newer additions could have come together with the older to make their own formula. We'll never know now though.
