I liked it when I was a kid, rewatched it recently and concluded that somethings are better left as memorys...
    Kyledm101 Posted 2 years 11 months ago
Yeah it was weird and a Dissipointment, its not what I thaught Zelda should be
The Evolution Of Life Posted 3 years 3 months ago
I'm lucky I've only ever seen the outro of it on TV if it really was that crap.
    199478q29 Posted 3 years 4 months ago
This show was okay dident care for it though I remember seeing a Legend of Zelda video game and there was a carector in it named the king and he was popular for saying Dinner.
Benjanime Posted 3 years 4 months ago
there are two things that they messed up on with link: he's a dork, and he's right handed. link has always been left handed, as proven by the original art from nintendo
zackieboy Posted 3 years 4 months ago
this was another good one to watch after school.
    CartoonKing2 Posted 3 years 5 months ago
This show sucked. I hate the way Link acted, and his annoying catchphrase "Well, excuuuuuse me Princess" is the #1 most irritating catchphrase in cartoon history. Plus the show was WAAAAY too light-hearted for a Legend Of Zelda cartoon. It's painful to even sit through five minutes of this horrible show. It's a disgrace to the LOZ games and an insult to the fans (I'm a big Zelda fan).
    yellow_submarine Posted 3 years 5 months ago
This show kick ass! Way better than the Mario shows.
Italianbaby Posted 3 years 5 months ago
I was OBSESSED wuth the games but I never watched the show...lol
    mega_choir_nerd_12 Posted 3 years 7 months ago
I missed this show's air time by four years but when I got obsessed with the games I looked up everything Zelda, found this and was in love! Haha. =]
dreiber Posted 3 years 10 months ago
The most famous line of the show has to be: Excuuuuse me Princess!
    Atari6600 Posted 3 years 11 months ago
I could NEVER sit through the first episode of this show. The games were good. The cartoon I'm not so sure about :/
Malbosia Posted 3 years 11 months ago
the games are awesome but this show was terrible, utterly terrible.Link's voice actor really sucks.

    Trueblue94 Posted 5 years 1 month ago
This looks pretty cool, I'd like to see it.
HitokiriAkins Posted 5 years 4 months ago
You know what really drove me crazy about this show is? Not the poor story or the ridiculous plots or the bad voice acting, its the fact that LINK IS RIGHT HANDED IN THE SHOW!!! In every single game, except for the Wii version of Twilight Princess, Link is LEFT HANDED!!! It even states in the game manual of the first NES game, which this show was based off of, that Link carried his sword in his left hand and his shield in his right. I can never forgive the people who animated this show for NOT DOING THEIR RESEARCH!!!
BloodWind Posted 5 years 4 months ago
I love the Zelda games to death, maybe that's why I REALLY cannot stand this show at all. It just disgraces the games.
pizzaguy Posted 5 years 5 months ago
"The White Knight" is the best episode! I also love on "Faeries In The Spring" when Zelda sees a monster behind Link, so she screams, then Link sarcastically says "What is it now Zelda? Am I blocking the sunlight to a dandelion?"
FoiledDragon Posted 5 years 5 months ago
woot canada for making this awesome show.
YeB Posted 5 years 5 months ago
were the hell can you watch it?
Toxie Posted 5 years 6 months ago
i download this series today!well i watched some videos on youtube and i like it a lot...the only thing i hate is link's stupid phrase in the intro...excuuuse me princess!
    nah!what a piece of shit.
majinmajesty Posted 5 years 6 months ago
the show wasnt bad for an 8yr old rushing home to see the show take over on fridays. link was, well...a heroic...surfer? Well i guess if ninja turtles were popular..? gannon was almost as lame, and nobody really stuck around to see if they ever got the triforce of power. A great typical 80s show!
    Good29er Posted 5 years 7 months ago
Of course I would have been watching this show, in the mornings before school, because first: it was linked to the Super Mario Super Show, and that it was from my country....awsome.
lexhogan Posted 5 years 7 months ago
great show based of the video game!
PNI Posted 5 years 10 months ago
    Well excuuuuuuuuuuse me Princess!

Now I feel like I want to kill Link.
phill Posted 5 years 10 months ago
I was really excited about the show when it came out, until Link started talking...he sounded like some dumb ass surfer.
Backfromthedead Posted 5 years 10 months ago
ok i just saw futuramafan95 video and now i felt my skin crawl and my stomach nearly threw up. i didn't even get past 30 seconds. fyi, my last comment was my 27 year old cousin. i never saw the show, love the games though

    Excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me princess!
Xehanort Posted 6 years 3 months ago
    MAH BOY
Wren Posted 6 years 3 months ago
What I never could figure out is why Link sounds like such a gomer. I mean... I watched the crap outta this bit every friday when I was a kid, but still. Side note, is the voice actor for link the same guy who does Stormy Waters in Sealab 2021?
Toxie Posted 6 years 3 months ago
i love zelda very much i can say!and since the 2nd video game i 1st played when i was kid is zelda link to the past for the snes!im a serious fun!:)
and i have watched 10 episodes of the this show!its great!:)
hollydrummer Posted 6 years 4 months ago
This show is funny lol. Watching now I see there are many jokes little kids would never understand lol.
adamant Posted 6 years 5 months ago
"Excuse me Princess, this show was kind of lame".

This is why I think Link shouldn't talk in the games.
gustogummi Posted 6 years 7 months ago
It wasn't that great. Bad animation, horrible voice acting and the "Excuse me, princess!" got on my nerves after a while. I liked when I was 12, but 18 years later, as I re-watched it on DVD, I found plenty of flaws about the show. It's great for kids and it's better for memories rather than rewatching.
elfchik Posted 6 years 7 months ago
The Legend of Zelda has soooo much potential to be a great cartoon but all you hear is Link saying "excuuuuse me Princess!" Makes me want to gag.
MicroMan Posted 6 years 9 months ago
Why couldn't they continue this series? If they made shows on kids wb based on Nintendo like SonicX and Kirby-Right back at ya', and almost made an F-Zero cartoon, then they should have made another Zelda cartoon!
Emphinix Posted 7 years 1 day ago
What a retarded cartoon. This is why Americans should not adapt Japanese cartoons
licawolf Posted 7 years 1 month ago
Mmm.. actually I used to rent this show, I liked it because I loved the old Zelda games. Back then I actually enjoyed it. My brother is still convinced that this was a great show.
Gooball Posted 7 years 2 months ago
The Phillips CD-i game of (Legend Of Zelda) reminds me of the show.
    kris21195 Posted 7 years 2 months ago
why can't i watch this show?
Redyoshi Posted 7 years 3 months ago
I agree, this show is retarded. My brother actually likes this pathetic show. For his information it got cancelled because nobody watched it. I bet I could get a billion people that hates it (well maybe not a billion but I'm sure that everyone that I could possibly know would hate this show). I mean I can't belive my brother doesn't have a clue about why there's only 13 episodes. Just like any other show with this many episodes, NOBODY WATCHED IT!!!! I'm surprised this show is even released on DVD. I bet there's not even 30 copies sold.
NanakiXIII Posted 7 years 3 months ago
This is why Americans shouldn't do spin-offs of Japanese things.
ilikeoldshowstoo Posted 7 years 3 months ago
    okay...THAT WAS REALLY RETARDED!!!!
    anarchist316 Posted 7 years 3 months ago
this show kicked ass, you obviously were to young or not even born when this show camo out. Usually after the super mario bros, and yeah since when was link a stupid surfer stoner
Hiro Posted 7 years 4 months ago
Now this was a bad show.
    Sniperwolf55 Posted 7 years 4 months ago

BlueMario Posted 7 years 8 months ago
    SAD NEWS! :(

This year, the Person that played Ganon's voice in this show and General Klump's voice from DKC DIED!

    That's SOOOO SAD!!! :(

I feel so bad for him!
retroboy Posted 7 years 9 months ago
There were always two things about this show that got to me.

    1. That in some of the episodes, Ganons needing to be hit a certain number of times to be beaten was different.

    2. That they never explained how Ganon escaped from the evil jar.

To bad it's not on anymore. :(
blueluigi Posted 7 years 9 months ago
This show is pretty good show but it's not as good as the video games. I have the DVD boxset released by Shout Factory! It's a shame that it only lasted for 13 episodes
BlueMario Posted 7 years 10 months ago
I've never seen the show. But I did played the games.
    I agree with you BluePeach.
    retroguy78 Posted 7 years 10 months ago
I think I preferred Super Mario Bros. They made that into a movie in 1993. I'd like to see Hollywood make a “Legend of Zelda” movie.
ooliyo Posted 7 years 10 months ago
Not too many people know that the voice behind "Link" was Scott Weinger, the guy who played DJ's boyfriend on "Full House".
LostInTime Posted 7 years 11 months ago
I still remember seeing this every Friday a decade and a half ago. They had those 80's-style people singing the Club Mario song (which I still remember) and hosting the show. Watching it now only makes me sad because I couldn't even name the enemies Gannon sent towards Hyrule.
jaklumen Posted 8 years 9 days ago
So did Link ever get to kiss the Princess?
pizzaguy Posted 8 years 20 days ago
That was a weird episode when that Prince Facade guy was like "Hero clothes must simply not get dirty". Weird show. Especially whenever Link was like "Kiss me princess."
    Sgt.scorpious Posted 8 years 29 days ago
i remember the tune from the games but i never knew there was a tv show
blueluigi Posted 8 years 2 months ago
Nope Zelda has never kissed Link however in the episode "The Missing Link" reveals that Zelda really DOES like Link.
Moonxtal Posted 8 years 3 months ago
Never saw it, but I kinda wish I did. I loved playing zelda on nintendo.
    mrs.link Posted 8 years 3 months ago
dude that one episode bdogg....w/e has, judging by it, zelda was like a little bitch and link was a horny teenager. and that fairy was right she was a snot. and whats up with those "swords"? there were like....knives!! still it seems like the type of show i'd watch even though it was corny...and i liked the video game sound fx. THat was actually pretty cool. and im soooo excitied about the new zelda game coming out on game cube. I saw som epics for it and (drool) link is older link in the game and he is soooo hot. And the graphics look incredible!! IM SO EXCITED!! IM so gonna get it!
Rhimmer Posted 8 years 4 months ago
I have a question what about the Triforce piece of Courage?
SummertmeBrews Posted 8 years 5 months ago
lol, Link had a way with women
Megadeth Posted 8 years 6 months ago
This is a true classic! I have a clear memory of my best friends eighth or ninth birthday, you know that age when you wanted to throw out all the "kid toys", because you felt all cool and grown up and stuff. Anyways, my mom (helpfully enough) had went out the day before and bought him a present (probably the first thing she set her eyes on). And when I arrived to his birthday party and gave him the present (I had no idea myself what it was!) and he opened it, there was this really wimpy gay-ass picture of Link holding his shield and smiling (this was the Swedish copy). We laughed so hard at it for like an hour, and I felt so ashamed that my mom had bought him this totally lame present!
But after the party when everyone had left except for me, we decided to watch it anyway... and it was AWESOME!!! and we were so shocked since we had laughed at it earlier, and assumed it was a gay-film. But we really loved it, and still watch it from time to time!
    k1scholar Posted 8 years 6 months ago
As a true nintendo veteran (Dad stood outside to buy the original 8-bit system), I lived for this cartoons. Used to comne on only once a week, on fridays, and I remember running home at breakneck speed from school not to miss it. Anyone not pscyed about the new game due out in fall 2006?
AdamYJ Posted 8 years 6 months ago
I like this cartoon. I didn't watch it in the '80s, and I still like it. It's just good '80s style cartoon high adventure fantasy. We don't see stuff like that anymore. People say it wasn't close to the games, but you have to remember that there wasn't much to the games to work with. Heck, Zelda and Link have both been in a whole bunch of games and they still don't have any real personality beyond what the player gives them. Dic just took advantage of the personality gap and filled it in. They made Link cocky and a little obnoxious and Zelda a bit prissy and stuck up. Thus, they could almost give them a "Han and Leia" style love/hate relationship.
    kimsy520 Posted 8 years 6 months ago
hey thanks for the clip :)

and I totally watched this show!!! It was cool, and I am a huge fan of DIC cartoons!

    "Excuuuse me, Princess!!"
captn Posted 8 years 7 months ago
cool show. bad voice acting in the danish version. what a shame to ruin such a beutiful show. shame on them:D
Ri-chan, Jedi Knight Posted 8 years 7 months ago
I know this show. It could be seen on Friday's, where as Super Mario Brothers was on Monday-Thursday. It seems that a lot of people weren't fond of this cartoon but I don't think that it was bad at all. The cartoon was played off fairly well from the video game and the same sounds were used. For those who think that the graphics are poor, look at the cartoons of today and you'll certainly change your mind.
Sheik Posted 8 years 7 months ago
Well, I guess to put artwork and storyline into play, I wouldn't give this show a five star..but its fun to watch just for the hell of it. Especially if you're a Zelda fan.
"Link HAS to save me. Its his JOB." - Zelda
and the famous quote by Link, "Well, excuuuuuuuse me, princess!"
    Classic.
    marioandyoshi96 Posted 8 years 7 months ago
Well...Excuuuuuuuse me, princess! This show was alright. Takes me back to a time when Nintendo was king.( Still is by me.)
shadow blaziken Posted 8 years 7 months ago
Proof that DiC shouldn't be allowed to touch video games.

    :/
    yami0204 Posted 8 years 8 months ago
I agree with mrs.link, seeing The Legend of Zelda as an anime would be neat-o. Especially if it is presented by a high-end company like Production I.G. Also, someone here has not been watching anime since the 1980's. You are entitled to your own opinion, but saying that "comparing old American quality to Japanese anime is the express line to Hell" is going a bit overboard. I appreciate old-school as much as I appreciate the new.

    Back on subject, I really do remember this cartoon. It was hokey, like most things in the 80's tended to be, but it was still enjoying to watch from my childish stand point. I was just too lame to wake up early enough to watch it as often as I wanted. ;_;
    mrs.link Posted 8 years 8 months ago
Old american quality? More like crap. Sorry but the animation looks rather bad. And i wouldnt know seeing as i havent really seen the show, but i get a lot of people telling me it was utterly terrible but they loved cuz they were kids. Oh well, im entitled to my opinion and you plecostomus are entitiled to yours. So let me rephrase what i said, im not to sure if this would be better as an anime, but i would LIKE TO SEE it as an anime. :)
Plecostomus Posted 8 years 8 months ago
^ ARGH! I hope their is a warm place in Hell for thoughts like this! Of course this is a terrible cartoon, and the chances are a better story line could be conjured from Japanese directors, but most definitely NOT ARTWORK. As far as cartooning quality goes, the Japanese have FAILED! I want to see quality, not shiny bubbly crap oozing from lazy Japanese intellect! I'm not talking about most modern cartooning. I'm talking about Zelda artwork quality!
Look at proportions! If it were anime, people's brains would fall out if they lost an eye! Look and background detail, (example Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), they actually hint at texture and have superior shading abilities. These examples continue for PAGES and PAGES!!! There is little to no reason to even attempt a decent comparison! (Keep in mind these are old American Cartoons, not modern crap like “Edd Ed and Eddy.”
The only reason I think it would be fair for Japan to take a swack at this cartoon is because "The Legend of Zelda" was their creation! The United States ruined the story, but gave the blessing of quality (even though this appeared to be a low budget show)!
^And from now on, be careful! Pray to the Gods for MERCY! For comparing old American quality to Japanese anime is the express line to Hell!!! CONSIDER YOURSELVES WARNED, HEATHENS!!!!
    mrs.link Posted 8 years 9 months ago
duh. japan can make any cartoon better and cooler. i can toooootally see this as an anime.
    Phantasmagoria_3D Posted 8 years 9 months ago
This cartoon was pretty cool, though I would've liked it better if it stayed more true to the games! I mean, Zelda is NOT supposed to be some stuck up snob and Link doesn't say annoying catch phrases like, "Excuuuuuse me, Princess!" I think Japan could've made a better cartoon version of it.
    mrs.link Posted 8 years 9 months ago
luvgoldeneye i know what u mean. There was a freakin show!!probably crap but i couldve watched it as a kid and my little brain wouldnt have cared. u can tell by my name i love the guy. OH well, i guess some things should just remain as this was only a game thing.
pokinsmot Posted 8 years 10 months ago
    http://yahooligans.yahoo.com/content/tv/

why buy it when you can watch it for free?
Plecostomus Posted 8 years 10 months ago
Ugh, that just looked bad. "Excuse me?" Man, watching a half hour of that would make me puke. Wait a second. I think I saw like two minutes of one of these, then I changed the channel (several years ago).
luvgoldeneye Posted 8 years 11 months ago
there was a zelda show? where the hell was i?
eep! Posted 8 years 11 months ago
I just picked up all the episodes on ebay (dvd). I remembered it being so much cooler as a child. I guess some things should best stay memories. The plots were horribly written and serious loop holes. Eh! Mute the tv and watch the semi-good American style animation. Bleh. Keep this a memory, it was oh so much sweeter then.
    retro_nerd Posted 8 years 11 months ago
Link always wanted a damn kiss! I'd knee him in the crotch if I was Zelda.
