I got all the season of Golden Girls on DVD.

Rose and Sophia were my fav since their were very funny.

Dorothy was funny since she kept saying funny things and the her ex-husband Stan kept coming to her was he was in troble and Blanche was funny since she kept going out with men and making herself look yonger.

I remember the good ol' days
coming home at 4 pm and flipping on Lifetime
and seeing the 30 seconds intro and the 22 minutes episodes
Nowadays they play them with only 5 minute commercials

Absolute best comedy show in the 80's and 90's. Thank God for DVD's so we can relive all those wonderful lines. Genious writing!
cneckles Posted 6 years 2 months ago
I never realised how racey some things they said were until I got older. Stuff I probably shouldn't have heard as a kid but appearantly didn't understand anyway.
cneckles Posted 6 years 2 months ago

    adog3001 Posted 6 years 6 months ago
Im a guy (a straight guy) and I freakin loved this show...it had some great moments. I used to watch this with my mom when I was little because nothing else was on. I hated to watch it @ first, then started to like it a lot. Classic tv series. Gotta get the DVD and a copy 4 my mom, she would love it.
    EZR09 Posted 6 years 7 months ago
My grandmother used watch The Golden Girls when she was alive. I used to carry my purse around alot and she told me that I reminded her of Sophia from that show.
Pudgietheparrot Posted 6 years 11 months ago
I ADORE this show!! I remember watching this pretty much ever since I was 10, 11 years old. For some reason, I just really clicked with the really intelligent, sassy comedy on this show and these 4 incredible, HILARIOUS ladies were what made the show so terrific--no one but them could have played Rose, Dorothy, Blanche, and my favorite SOPHIA, LOL!

    misch3riedior Posted 6 years 11 months ago
"Thank you for being a friend..." Love the song but I have a love for theme songs (we just don't get those anymore).. Blanche was boss but the old one took the cake, she was such a cute lil' smart ass. Rose was the ditz and Bea Arthur was the sane one...

    Definitely a classic...
brynniegirl Posted 7 years 1 month ago
Totally agree with "CanadianWeirdAlFan", it is impossible to get bored with this show. I have all 7 seasons on DVD and have watched each episode countless times, not including the countless times watching them on LifetimeTV. Maybe dorky, but it's SUCH a clever, witty, knee-slappin' funny show! Gosh! Blanche, Rose, Dorothy and Sophia - and Stan :D - are such unforgettable characters; I don't know anybody who dislikes any of them. A PERFECT show, from beginning to end! *~*~*Thank you for being a friend*~*~*
DeLoreanlover Posted 7 years 3 months ago
This is by far my all time favorite 80's sitcom :-)
CanadianWeirdAlFan Posted 7 years 7 months ago
I loved watching all the re-runs of this. It's a shame it doesn't run anymore. It's impossible to get bored with it. :)

My now-dead grandmother loved 2 watch this show....and, so did I. I might not have been able 2 get the humor, but I must say that it was CLEAN humor
    ducktalesfan1977 Posted 8 years 26 days ago
I watched this every Saturday night with my mom. I have the first 3 seasons on DVD.
    90sKid Posted 8 years 4 months ago
If you dont like the show, go watch Family Guy. I'm sure they'll do some lame ass parody very soon *rolls eyes*

I love this so much and I'm mad Lifetime is moving in favor of still standing. I've been watching the 6PM ones for about 4 or 5 years.
    bryon395 Posted 8 years 5 months ago
FINALLY! Someone found the ORIGINAL opening to this show instead of that crappy syndicated version! :)
    Rogue73 Posted 8 years 8 months ago
But if you guys remember that when Blanche's Manny comes visiting, to ask for the music box she gave Blanche's Father, that Manny Watkins calls her by "Blanche Marie Hollingworth" So I wonder if Mrs. Deveraux has 2 middle names...Elizabeth and Marie. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.
    80sGuru Posted 8 years 8 months ago
Correction: Blanche Deveraux. sorry for the misspelling.
    80sGuru Posted 8 years 8 months ago
A bit of trivia: Blanch Deveraux's initials are B.E.D.

I don't remember which episode this was revealed on, and i don't remember what the E stands for, maybe Elenore? don't remember.
    kramer_2010 Posted 8 years 9 months ago
this is the greatest show ever I am 13 but one of my best buds Danielle I watch it all the time...we think that is hilarious
    Rogue73 Posted 8 years 10 months ago
This show is listed as one of the top best series of all time. It's definitely shows. Great writers, and Great actresses. It is the 3rd most watched Re-run show in television history. It's also a college favorite. I watched this on NBC with my family, and then the short-lived Golden Palace. Still watch it on Lifetime when I can. Although, now I have the DVD seasons. When Dorothy left, the show died. Now that I am older at 32, and recently lost my Grandmother, it's nice to watch this show. Makes me feel like she's still here. Gotta love those lovly, mature ladies of Miami. Dorothy,Blanche,Rose,Sophia...we love you.
    kimsy520 Posted 8 years 11 months ago
Dorothy used to scare me :P I thought she was too masculine to be chasing after men! I loved Sophia's wit and Rose was adorable.
