Loved Bananaman,back in the day,was on everyday after Danger Mouse on Nickelodeon.

IHAVE ASKED AT LEAST 20 PEOPLE IF THEY REMEMBERED THIS SHOW AND THEY THOUGHT I WAS EVEN WEIRDER THAN THEY PREVIOUSLY HAD THOUGHT. THANK YOU RETRO JUNK THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! i would never have known about THIS SITE IF MY SON'S SCHOOL PLAY HAD NOT SHOWN SOME OF THE OLD STUFF WITH THE SITE LISTED AT THE BOTTOM DURING INTERISSIONS.

This show used to piss me off when I first saw it but it must've grown on me because I missed it when it wasn't on anymore.

My daughters and I have this joke- If you can't think of anything funny to say, just say 'banana'! and it's good for a laugh. Today, my 6 year old made a joke when I was ironing, and followed it with 'banana!' I had a flashback in the garage doorway....I went to my wife and said she reminded me of this show that I vaguely remembered and I remember no one else thought it was funny, but I thought it was hilarious! I said I thought it was called Bananaman. We looked it up on the net and I was so proud to see I was right, and someone else remembered it, too! She was stationed in Japan in the 80's, so she doesn't remember anything 'American' from then. This just legitimized my stories of 'Danger Mouse', You Can't Do That on Television, and life before Nick at Nite. Nick ended at 8:00p.m. but ROCK'D after 6:00!

Lol I hated this show because his girlfriend had the same name as me and my friend used to tease me about being in love with Bananaman...

My brother and I used to watch this on Nickelodeon I believe. Along with Danger Mouse and something else... Maybe the Raccoons or was that Disney? Anyhow, I remember this cartoon.

I don't think that its Country of Origin is American I'm sure this is british!

I'd like to see the later version of the intro here if possible-- it had a much more dramatic voice narration.

The show was yet another example of understated British humor. I remember Bananaman playing a game of cricket with himself. It's rather amusing, though, that Brits can't stand really ripe bananas (so blackened bananas are out of the question), so these cartoon bananas are the barely ripe variety, all yellow and void of black spots.

It looks sorta weird that a kid turns into a full-grown man in a suit during the transformation. Also, Eric eats weirdly. I mean, look at his cheeks when he eats the banana.

I remember Bananaman! But there wasn't much to it. I agree that it was a time filler between other cartoons but it wasn't too bad. You would certainly need only one DVD for the whole series.
