I liked this show as a kid and was sorry to see it go off the air. It's sad about Dana Plato and we also lost Gary Coleman. This was a good show with a great family lesson.

Both Bridges and Plato suffered skirmishes with the law. For Plato her career and life spiraled out of control. There were allegations of drug abuse whilst on the show (she suffered an overdose of valium at 14). After the show was cancelled work was hard to find and she was arrested for an attempted store robbery in Las Vegas. She received a suspended sentence but a further violation for forging a prescription brought a jail sentence.

She claimed that her fortune from the show had suffered at the hand of a fraudster. Despite attempts to resurrect her career the decline into drugs and drink continued and she died at the age of 36.

I used to love this show.... it's really a shame what became of the main characters..... from what I understand (which I wouldn't take as gospel) both Todd Bridges and Dana Plato got on the wrong side of the law as adults.... I never really got the full story but I remember hearing something about both of them being arrested (separate incidents). Does anyone know if this is true or not?

I just got into this show this past weekend. Found some clips on Youtube and spent my time laughing my head off at Gary Coleman's lines. I've also developed a bit of a crush on the young Dana Plato. She was pretty.

I remember when Arnold and the game visited Universal Studios in California. Arnold and Sam accidentally wandered onto the set for "Knight Rider" and were almost blown to smithereens until David Hasselhoff stopped the man from blowing up K.I.T.T.

Hey guys, if you stop & think about it, this show launched the Facts of Life. These characters were in some of the FOL episodes during the first 2 seasons (if my memory serves me right). I was too young to remember it but I do remember watching the reruns on Nick-at-Nite.

Gary Coleman seemed to weather the success of the show, but Todd Bridges and Dana Plato did not. Todd Bridges was later brought up on drug-related charges, and Dana Plato virtually disappeared from acting, becoming infamous later (as it seemed an act of desperation for her career) for appearing nude in Playboy. Gary Coleman seems to be going fairly strong in his career, recently gaining a role in the Mormon film "Church Ball".

I remember that Dixie Carter was a later addition to the show. I suspect that more people remember her for her success later in the show Designing Women. Her character's kid was cute, but he seems annoying to me now. (By the way, the actor doesn't appear to be listed.)

Laughs out Loud, didn't that show get cancelled because Gary Coleman got older. And they tried to hang on by having that red haired kid later on.

Gary Coleman's funny! The only thing of his that I found boring was that Gary Coleman show, which was a cartoon!
