I watched this show every week when it was new, I loved Chips. I found out something interesting about Ponch and Jon. Larry Wilcox and Erik Estrada did not get along very well on the set. I remember at the time when Chips was popular there were stories of them not being very friendly towards each other while being on the show. I will never forget how at the end of each show they would freeze frame Ponch or Jon smiling or laughing. I think they did it for effect but it ended up being pretty funny.

Loved this show. It must be the only show that has never had any re-runs in the UK since the 1980s. Such a pity, and its still not available on DVD at the time of writing in Europe.

Never got into this show and never reilley knew what it was about.

Its funny at one time and its many years later i was watching an episode when Officer Francis “Ponch” Poncherello takes is helmet off and his hair stays the same i never think about that at all since i was a kid watching that show then but i did love that show after all

I've been thinking about this show recently. I used to watch it with my family years ago. The theme song was running through my head too. I'm just glad my memory still got the song right.

Kinda funny how I've always liked cop shows but grew up to despise law enforcement. LOL....

I loved watching this show, have just got all the episodes on DVD, me and my mate used to ride our push bikes side-by-side, how sad!!

This was one of the greatest police shows, in my opinion, of all time. Looking back on it now though, being 32 and the son of a CHP sergeant, i can't believe how terribly cheesey it was. I still love every episode though. I was stoked the day I bought season one at Target. Do you know how long i waited for CHiPs to be released on DVD?

What cracked me up was that in every ep there was always a massive twenty car pile up,with two or three always leaping over the others lol

I just bought the first season on dvd...man, it brings back a lot of memories...all i need is a few more shows on dvd and I won't even have to watch crappy tv anymore...I'll have all my favorites growing up at my disposal!

My grandmother & I used 2 LOVE watching this show....too bad it only comes on as reruns anymore :-(

What's impressive for this TV show is that Erik Estrada did his own stunts (until one backfired and he quit).

I used to watch this show back then, with my cousin. then in the 90s when I started watching it again on cable.

I Loved this show. I always watched the reruns. I like their Kawasaki bikes. When I was young, I used to own a CHiPs "Motorcycle".
