Mimicking this show, I climbed up this tree we had in our front yard and proceeded to eat the leaves until I got sick and threw up. I then realized I couldn't get back down, so I sat in the tree crying until my mom found me. I was like 3 or 4.

I remember I first learned the word "eucalyptus" on this show...and that koalas ate eucalyptus leaves. See? Cartoons are good for kids to watch sometimes. They're not all brain drainers. They can be very educational, both scholastically & morally. I hear alot of people nowadays say it's bad to let young children set for a couple of hours watching cartoons. Yet were it not for cartoons, I may have still not known of the eucalyptus plant. Just sayin.

Just wanted to let anyone who is looking for them know, Adventures of the Little Koala on DVD is available here:

    freewebs.com/stuffilike/littlekoala.htm

I\'m an aspiring animator and cartoon preservationist, and I make my own DVDs (when there are no commercial releases available) of the shows that inspired me as a child. Normally people find me through google or word-of-mouth as I don\'t advertise, but I decided to do some word-of-mouth myself for a change, to help those who are actively looking for these DVDs and haven\'t found me yet. ;)

HOLY COW I can\'t believe I found this. I used to watch this religiously. I vaguely remember a rabbit wearing a walkman!

Ditto to what PlantPage55 said, this was definitely part of my mid-day summer TV viewings. I never wanted to admit that I watched anything on Nick Jr.-that was baby\'s stuff!
    This_guy Posted 6 years 3 months ago
This and Noozles were two of my favorite shows to watch on Nick Jr. during summer vacations. Hell, I used to enjoy watching EVERYTHING on Nick Jr. back then.
    PlantPage55 Posted 6 years 4 months ago
Suck me sideways!!! I used to watch this EVERY day on Nick Jr. along with David the Gnome. I used to eat those little Asian chocolate filled koalas while I watched it too.
    julyfly79 Posted 6 years 6 months ago
I watched the entire Nick Jr. lineup during summer vacations, and this was one of my favorites. I think the reporter was named Miss Lewis, but i\'m not sure.

I watched The Adventures of the Little Koala when I was little.

I used to watch this on Nick. It was on with David the Gnome and the Noozles.

I think I used to watch this show a lot when I was a little kid, but I didn\'t think the characters were entirely anthropomorphic... I remembered the blue koala, but I thought the pink koala was tiny and could fly and that there was a little red-headed girl. Is this the same show??

I use to watch this show too. It was cute. :)

Wow, this brings me back. I seem to remember this being a really cool show. Pretty much all of the old-school animes that used to play on TV were.

This looks like a pretty good show but i\'ve never seen it because I was only born in 1991 which was only 2 years before this show got the axe.
    nikki89 Posted 8 years 4 months ago
I have a VERY vague memory of this, and since it was still airing in 93 I most likely did watch this. I remember Noozles better though.
    Paperboy84 Posted 8 years 4 months ago
Man I wish I could get in a time machine. It\'s funny that the intro alone is more enjoyable than entire episodes of some of the shows that come on today.
    Saturday_Supercade Posted 8 years 4 months ago
This show is one of my all time favorites. Floppy and Weather were my personal heroes back then.

I just hope there is a way in the future to see this show either on-air or online. I really would like my kids to watch it.

I loved this show when I was around eight or nine. It sort of reminds me of Hello Kitty, but with Koalas.
    TimCurryChick85 Posted 8 years 4 months ago
Wow this totally takes me back to my kindergarten days. Why can\'t Nick show stuff like this anymore?
    TV1985 Posted 8 years 7 months ago
I\'m glad they finally have the full intro of The Little Koala. The first one listed only showed parts of the intro.
Moonxtal Posted 8 years 7 months ago
Great show! Nice stories, and morals at the end. I remember quite a few of the eps. Like when the kids decided to live on their own, without their parents. The eps. where the little flying squirrel got sick and Weather (whatever he was.. a cat maybe?) took care of him. The one about Laura and the egg she finds. (this one you can find on video if you look hard) and pammy the penguin, trying to lose weight. Yeah good times. ^_^

One of my favorites from Nick Jr. This show was great!
My cousin was a big Nick fan so she got me hooked on all the great shows on there.
SummertmeBrews Posted 8 years 9 months ago
Great show! I remember this being on Nickelodeon when I\'d stay home from school. Great anime concept from Japan
SSJ Jup81 Posted 9 years 3 days ago
I used to love this, and if I remember right, it used to alternated with Maple Town. You know, one week, Adventure of the \'Lil Koala would air Monday/Wednesday/Friday, Maple Town Tuesday/Thursday, then the next week, Maple Town Monday/Wednesday/Friday, etc.

I remembered the intro as I saw it. When it comes to \"cutsie\" things like that, I\'m sure Nick Jr. could get away with showing it again.

Wish I could get eps of this to show to my younger cousin who was deprived. She was born in 1994. I did show her the intro to this, and liked how they looked. lol

I remember there being 3 kangaroo brothers on this show, they were always screwing around with there giant boomerang. One of them reminded me of Oolong from Dragonball.
pocko Posted 9 years 19 days ago
If I\'d known then what I know now, I would have had a VCR recording 24/7... I guess we all would have. The title of this show has eluded me for some 15 years, and now I can finally show my friends that it was NOT just a figment of my imagination.
    diggidy28 Posted 9 years 28 days ago
This was one show I clearly remember watching all the time when I was 7 or 8 (23 now) It must have been on after school or something. And it was crazy like you said above, I remembered all the words to the intro even though it\'s been 15 years since I saw it! I loved this show, and I agree, Nickelodeon and ALL CARTOON PROGRAMMING is just not the same anymore.
    TV1985 Posted 9 years 2 months ago
I still remember when there was Miya the Bee, David thd Gnome, The Little Koala, Eureka\'s Castle, The Elephant Show, The Noozels, The Little Bits, The Muppet Babies, and The Muppet Show.

Yes. Nick Jr. has gone downhill. So has Nickelodian in general. No You Can\'t Do That On Television, no Double Dare, no Looney Tunes on Nick, no Sulute Your Shorts, no Hey Dude, no Inspector Gadget, no Doug, no Ren & Stimpy, no Get The Picture, no Wild & Crazy Kids, etc. NOTHING!!!
    Phantasmagoria_3D Posted 9 years 2 months ago
OMG! I remember watching this show at the age of six (I\'m 20 now, btw) back in 1991-92! For it\'s time, it WAS very entertaining and fun to watch and the characters were quite memorable! Not that bad for an oldschool anime for children! Ah, memories...
