This is one of those notorious 80s cartoons that was just a vehicle for selling the toys - which totally kicked ass. I have hardly any memories of the cartoon, yet I have tons of memories of playing with the toys. And I can remember the commercials for the toys as well.

This show was awesome!! I still have the very first episoe somewhere on video. I believe the toys were made by Tyco as I seem to remember the video featuring a lot of adverts for a Tyco racing set with Nigel Mansell?! Basically the Valorians are the good guys who manage to jump a portal in space and end up getting followed by the evil Rulons to earth\'s past. Both side end up crash landing in different areas of a jungle on the planet and discover that the place is still crawling with Dinosaurs. The Valerioans end up befrieding the herbiverous dinosaurs whilst the evil Rulons end up enslaving the meat eating dinosaurs and using them for their own personal gains. The Rulons fit \'brain boxes\' to their dinosaurs in order to harness control of them. both sides end waging war aginst each other using weapons mounted on the dinosaurs like gun turrets and most of the dinosaurs had a saddle which the rider could sit on.The Valerions were mainly human looking figures whilst the Rulons had snake looking heads or Ant like looking heads with big bug eyes. The toy range was incredible and I actually owned most of them thanks to my generous parents. The leader of each side had their own massive dinosaur to fight from. The Valorian leader had a massive Diplodocus, complete with side mounted pods that opended up where you could store other figures and from where they could fire the laser guns. The bad leader who I believe was called Rasp rode in a a truly awesome looking Tyranosaurus Rex, which come with some truly terrifying looking weaponry which could be mounted on the dinosaur. Smaller dinosaurs were also available including Velociraptors and a really cool looking Triceratops that had a side mounted seat and gun turret that sat on the dinos back. Also really cool were they flying Pterodactyls, one featuring a seat with wing mounted laser blasters and the other smaller pterodactyl, which i believe was flown by a little kid, featured a hang glider style riding position. All in all a very cool toy line that i\'m surprised wasn\'t more well known and successful. I just wish i\'d kept hold of the toys instead of selling them in boot sales for a couple of quid when i was younger.

I remember watching it, I remember wanting the toys but not being able to afford them, but I do not recall what the hell it was about. All that comes to memory is they each had a relationship with their dino\'s personality kinda like power rangers and their zords.
