Aw, I didn't watch this enough when I was little. When my baby brother was born, I felt like I had to be the big kid.

He's off playing "big kid" now, so I think I'll sneak on down to the theater and watch the new Pooh movie.
CoralineEyes Posted 3 years 3 months ago
wow the theme always brings tears to my eyes. I miss being a kid sooo much, this brings it back, the childhood that i am taking with me everywhere I go, wish i had some friends that were like me! :(

This used to be one of my favourite shows before I saw Pokemon. My favourite episode was when they were on the hunt for the "Slusher". Tigger was really funny in that episode.
RedMetalSky Posted 4 years 10 months ago
I don't know why this hasn't got a complete series release yet. Luckily I have about half of the show on VHS and was able to get the complete series from someone who recorded it on TV. I'm still waiting for an official release though.
    SeanN64 91 Posted 4 years 10 months ago

you cant get any better than classic winnie the pooh! i am obsessed with winnie the pooh! i hope it never goes waya
zomnificent Posted 6 years 3 months ago
I was just the right age to watch this show beginning in 1988 (and through 1990). I watched it every morning, and to this day, the theme song plays in my head every morning. It has had the most lasting impact on me of all of these shows, and I would buy it on DVD.

I remember Heffalumps and Woozels, the very rainy day, the very windy day, Pooh getting stuck, Winnie the Pooh and Christmas, Too (which I have on tape), Pooh sticks. All of that.
ilovemohawks Posted 6 years 5 months ago

Ihatenaruto Posted 7 years 3 months ago
    wasnt this on until 1996?
    MissALibra86 Posted 7 years 3 months ago
I love this show - I have watched all the episodes hundreds of times when I was a child. Every morning before elementary school, I used to watch this show. Its theme song is one of the best ever (I know it by heart), and I love all the kooky adventures that Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Rabbit, Eeyore, Owl, and the other characters get themselves into. I was very saddened when this show went off the air. It was one of my favorite childhood shows.

Luckily, I found a whole bunch of video tapes of this show at a garage sale one day. The woman at the sale was astounded when I grabbed ALL the tapes off the table and bought them!!!! Now I can watch some of the episodes whenever I want, and relive some of my fondest childhood memories with some of my animated friends.

This show, while very silly, is a comforting and simple show that I can watch over and over again.
Ihatenaruto Posted 7 years 3 months ago

    rnorred06 Posted 7 years 5 months ago

dalmatianlover Posted 7 years 5 months ago

    Hexon.Arq Posted 7 years 6 months ago
I used to have a ton of videos of this show. (I wonder what I did with them?..) I'd get up extra early on Saturday morning just in case ABC decided to move around Sonic SatAM again for no apparent reason, and Winnie the Pooh always preceeded it; consequently, I got hooked on it too.

Damn, CRO, Pooh, Sonic, ReBoot, Bugs & Tweety... awesome times.
    Mondav87 Posted 7 years 6 months ago
The land of milk and honey!
    I love that episode
    99Centsplease Posted 7 years 6 months ago
This got put back on Toon Disney. The theme song easily gets jammed in your brain.
    ducktalesfan1977 Posted 7 years 7 months ago
One of the last decent Saturday morning cartoons.
BluePhoenix Posted 7 years 9 months ago
I had a VHS of this that I used to watch religiously. Good times.
TherealRNO Posted 8 years 4 days ago
    Sqonkey!

But seriously, Disney has ruined the Pooh franchise. True, I loved the films, this series, and even the "live action" Welcome To Pooh Corner version that passed along morals, but when they get rid of Christopher or make the Pooh cast jump out of the book as creepy, Henson-esque puppets, then it is WAR!
Demache Posted 8 years 15 days ago
My favorite episode was when Tigger yells "Sqonkey!" (imitating a rubber dog toy) all the time when they lose Christopher Robin's dog. Best & most random was when he he yelled "Sqonkey!" over the PA in the grocery store in that episode. I used laugh so hard at that part when I was little.
    sweetpeaangel8504 Posted 8 years 1 month ago
I remember this show. I loved it so much and I love hearing my younger cousins watching the movies. I see this cartoon on Toon Disney from time to time and I always remeber watching this on Saturday mornings all the time.
daminmancejin Posted 8 years 1 month ago
i hear this cartoon everytime early in the morining it makes me feel so good early in the morining
    nikki89 Posted 8 years 3 months ago
I was a Winnie the Pooh freak when I was a kid. I have countless tapes, and I even had a recorded tape full of episodes, until my mom taped over it with soap operas. I'm still not completely over that. Anyway this show was awesome, and I still remember the theme song.
jaklumen Posted 8 years 3 months ago
BlueMario-- yes, it's been run on Playhouse Disney for a while now. Because Bear in the Big Blue House was also featured on that part of the Disney Channel programming (and we don't have cable) my mother-in-law videotaped both shows. My daughter and nephew watch it for hours on end, so any vague memories of the show on ABC Saturday morning cartoons (as Disney has had ownership in ABC for a long time) are pretty much replaced by recent ones.

I was very sad when Paul Winchell died recently. He defined the voice of Tigger and although I'm sure Jim Cummings is trying very hard to imitate his voice (as he continues to do for recent Disney movies featuring the cast) it is just not the same. He does a very wonderful job imitating Sterling Holloway, who was the original voice of Pooh.

I was rather upset to hear that Disney has been considering a new version of the show with a 4-year old girl replacing Christopher Robin. I'm a purist when it comes to the Disney story and versions of the characters (but read the original books by A.A. Milne-- the original characters are little like the Disney ones).
BlueMario Posted 8 years 3 months ago
Man! Oh MY God!!!! I never get to see this anymore! I used to much this on Disney's 1 Saturday Morning an Abc, and the Disney channel! THey were awesome! ^_^ They still re-run some old epiosdes on PLay-house disney at like I'm Thinking 6:00am in the morning.
Harpsiccord Posted 8 years 4 months ago
This used to come on at around 11:30 on Saturdays and I think i'd flip between that and anything else that was on non-cable TV--- nope, no cable. Deprived childhood :)
Moonxtal Posted 8 years 5 months ago
I watched this, that intro brings back memories. I think you can still catch this on toon disney or something, like really early in the morning. I always loved eeyore, that sad, sad donkey.
pancakesaregood Posted 8 years 7 months ago
Sometimes I still get up at 5:30AM to watch TNAoWtP on whats left of The Disney Channel. That channel has gone to crap, no more shows from the Disney Afternoon Lineup (Ducktales, Rescue Rangers, Goof Troop, Bonkers, TaleSpin, etc) its all this crap Satan's Spawn MICHAEL EISNER and his damn micromanaging the damn company and having every damn so be That's So Raven, Lilo & Stitch, or Lizzie McGuire. What ever happened to the Disney Channel with no commercials and adult programming in the evening (not porn you perverts, but concerts and Vault Disney)

DAMN HIM EISNER. He ruined our hopes for WESTCOT, Disney's America, Roger Rabbit's Hollywoodland, Roger Rabbit sequel, a good Pocahontas (was edited heavily), he killed the Disney family, Frank Wells, pissed of George Lucas (ever wonder why no Captain EO 2? OR a new Star Tours? Steve Jobs, finally wooed back by Iger

Back to Pooh, this was good Pooh. Not that Pooh on every corner, cheap cardboard ride at Disneyland Pooh, not the creepy puppets, good Pooh. Oh Pooh, why ahave they not put you on DVD.
    ccann702 Posted 8 years 7 months ago
Disney had the absolute best theme songs for their animated shows. So memorable, and i don't think anyone will disagree. Ducktales, Rescue Rangers, Gummi Bears, etc... This one was definitley one of the best.

The thing that I remember most about this show was that episode where Rabbit took care of that little bird, Kessie. Kessie would later show up in a future episode all grown up. I liked that little bird and wished she was on the show more.

The interesting thing was that Kessie made the leap to being a regular cast member on Disney Channel's recent series The Book of Pooh. I guess I was right that the character had more potential as a regular.
dabattousai Posted 8 years 9 months ago
I use to own the volumes they came out with for this show. I still like Winnie the Pooh and whenever I jump into that book in Kingdom Hearts II, I always think, "yes, I use to watch your show."
    kimsy520 Posted 8 years 9 months ago
I miss this show dearly!! I used to watch it whenever I would visit my great-grandma. Whenever I think of this show I think of her :)
