I was obsessed with Muppet Babies...I always loved Miss Piggy. I grew up near Orlando and then they put the Muppets 3D show in they had a little store where you could buy Muppet Babies..and oh yes I def got a Miss Piggy doll haha!

Loved The Muppet Babie. Litterally Grew Up watching this Show.. I mean Dang They are Still Popular Until This Very Day...

    Go Muppet Babies.
    AndrewV1992 Posted 2 years 9 months ago
Disney actually got ahold of this series when they bought the Muppet Show characters and related shows, along with Bear in the Big Blue House show/characters. But now to get the copyrights for the clips is the tricky part to get the whole series on DVD.
    AndrewV1992 Posted 2 years 9 months ago
Although there were a few VHS releases of the series, they never released it to DVD, due to copyright reasons for the clips from various other movies and TV shows, which is almost odd since there were DVDs that came with plush toys sometime in the 2000s
detailedfiles Posted 3 years 12 days ago
I was all about Muppet Babies when I was little...they had the best movie references and clips. The Blob, Star Wars etc... so rad.

The show that kids watch today on Nick call "Backyardiginns" is similar to the muppet babies.
HelloKitty Posted 4 years 6 months ago
I loved this show so much when I was a child. I loved watching the dog because he played the piano. Gonzo was annoying. I was afraid of animal; I thought he would bite me. I assumed he would since his name was animal and he had all those teeth. I feared what nanny would actually look like since no one could see her face. I assumed that she was frighteningly ugly since they wouldn't show her face. LOL!
    Jt62786 Posted 4 years 6 months ago
This show is a spion off of B baby Looney Tunes and I miss this show alot. I use to watch before going to preschool and when I didnt' have preschool with my grandparents. :P

Fing LOVE IT!! I WANT DVDs!!!!!
Unfortunately we may never see them on DVD because of all the licensing fees, you know they use so many clips from different movies and such for their "imagination" sequences. It would probably be really expensive to release. BUT DO IT!!
Peter North Posted 5 years 2 months ago
This needs the DVD treatment STAT!

I loved this show so much my sister recorded all the songs from the show onto a cassete with a mic and a stereo for my 6th birthday! *gets misty eyed*

I used to watch this all the time when I was little. I hated Miss Piggy for the way she used to treat Gonzo, who I thought was cool, including Fozzie. I had the McDonald toys that came out in the 80's, too.

RetroToon Posted 6 years 18 days ago
Oh, and it was pretty cool how they used clips from the 80's movies like Star Wars and Ghostbusters. And I defiently remember their faceless nanny.
RetroToon Posted 6 years 18 days ago
I used to have an episode of Muppet Babies on tape from when it was on Nickelodeon (as well as the Nick promo of it). I don't remember the episode fully but I think it had to do with Greek mythology.
    retroguy78 Posted 6 years 20 days ago
I loved all of the 80s references and real time footage spliced into this cartoon.
Arminius Posted 6 years 20 days ago
I am sure alot of you know this but if you head over to www.tvshowsondvd.com and register (it's free) you can vote on this and many other shows to hopefully be put out on DVD some day. I also remember watching this show when it first aired and there was nothing like it on TV back then or even since then. I think my favorite episode to this day would have to be where they filmed their own version of Star Wars. Anyone remember Oggie-Ben Doggie? Too Awesome!

Whoa, I haven't seen this show in years! This I think is one of the most brilliant cartoons ever made. I remember Nickelodeon use to air this show every Saturday & Sunday morning for one hour. I wish they would put this show back on the air. Now they show nothing but crap these days. This show makes me sad and want to go back and relive the 90's when TV was good. I am 20 years old now and watching this makes me feel old. I still remember the lyrics sadly and I haven't seen this show for at least 10 years. I forgot what year it was when Nickelodeon took this show off the network.

    Daniel_BMS Posted 7 years 2 months ago
This cartoon was psychologically brilliant. Characters actually had different personalities for the sake of exploring character flaws. Animation was over layed live backgrounds. Expensive movie license footage was aired in seamingly every episode. This show had it all! Such a shame it's a licensing nightmare and may never make it to DVD. And also unfortunately Disney currently owns the rights to the show.
    Dominic_1981 Posted 7 years 3 months ago

Eeee! Muppet Babies! I LOVED this show! I used my imagination qute a bit when I was a kid, so I could totally indetify with this show. It was a great quality show, with great morals. I'd have to say my fav. eps. is the one with the missing roller skate (or something like that) and it would show up in diffrent classical paintings that the babies would mimmic. I forget the whole story, but I remember the paintings and such.
    dramagirl1990 Posted 7 years 11 months ago

By the way, does anyone know if Muppet Babies is available on DVD yet? if so i am SOOOOO going to buy it!
    80sGuru Posted 8 years 1 month ago
For all you guys wondering why they only showed Nanny's legs, it was because the focus was on the muppet babies, it was a childern's world, and we are seeing Nanny from their prospective, the prospective of a small toddler.

I loved this show when i was young, the original run. one of my favorites is the fun park episode, and another one where they thought their pet frog or lizard was from neptune heh
    90sKid Posted 8 years 1 month ago
    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED it!

I miss this show! I used to love watching it! I remember one episode where Nanny gave the muppets valentine cookies with their faces on them and Rowlf didn't get one, so all the Muppets made him a special valentine-and it turns out Nanny left it on the cookie sheet
And another episode where Nanny is wallpapering the bathroom and Kermit and Fozzie smell the glue and they think it's what they're having for dinner, LOL
    Good times, good times
SummertmeBrews Posted 8 years 2 months ago
my brother use to beat me up for watching this show when it first came out, I don't care, I still love em... I remember the Back to the future episode and other Movie fill-ins that were tied into the show, those were classics'
Sheik Posted 8 years 2 months ago
I loved this show so much. I watched it on on Nickelodeon :]
Pinwheel Posted 8 years 2 months ago
I always thought the Muppet babies were in some giant lab experiment, because they never, ever left the nursery, well except to occasional other parts of the house. Anytime they were supposed to go on a trip, something happened and it got cancelled. Plus they were scared of Nanny. Notice how when they pretended about monsters it would turn out to be her in the end? LOL
    TV1985 Posted 8 years 3 months ago
I remember watching The Muppet Babies when CBS had it's best Saturday Mourning block. Which had The Muppet Babies, Pee-Wee's Playhouse, Garfield and Friends, Hey Vern, it's Earnest, Teen Wolf (animated), and Mighty Mouse. I believe that was either in the year of 1988 or 1989.

Then later on they played the reruns on Nickelodian and Nick Jr.
    Units1019 Posted 8 years 3 months ago
Looking back, its hard to find another original cartoon. I mean, the Muppets have obviously always been around. But they way they spliced the live action footage and too the idea of imagination and made it the premise of the show. It was the quintessential idea that tapped into what it meant to be a kid or just a dreamer in general. One of the classic cartoons from a real golden age.
    kimsy520 Posted 8 years 3 months ago
I grew up on this show :) I loved how baby Animal always got someone at the end and went "go bye-bye!"

    I always wished they'd show Nandy's face!

Though it's kinda embarassing, Little Miss Piggy was my favorite.

My younger sister was born in 1990 and my mother asked me what I wanted to name her, I replied "Little Miss Piggy or Katy", so I now have a 15 year old sister named Katy. :)

Trashley Posted 8 years 7 months ago
I liked this show, but one thing I did not like was that they never showed that nanny! All you saw was her striped stockings. I swear one time though she had a veil on and you could kind of see her face. I was simply amazed.

    Jem-fan Posted 8 years 7 months ago
Muppet Babies was an inspirational, cutesy cartoon for America's children to grow up on. I loved how the babies' imaginations were used and then the show would cut to what they really were; a cardboard tube was really Kermit's sword, or Gonzo's aliens were stuffed animals. I miss this show.
