This is a really great movie. I DID see the remake and while it had some good qualities and a pretty freaking good performance from Steven Weber, it dragged ON for far too long, and much of the terrifying punch of the story was lost. I actually saw the miniseries first, then watched the Kubrick film, and compared them. The Kubrick version wins by a long shot. It injects new qualities into the theme, that while King may have not liked, REALLY enhanced the movie.

this is one of my favorite stephen king movies.

I watched this movie before reading the book. I\'ve always loved the film. Nickolson did great as Torrance. He looks so evil no matter what role he\'s in, even when he\'s playing a good guy!

While reading the book, I never realised that the movie was quite dissimilar to the novel\'s plot. The endings were completely different. But to me it feels like you get two adventers from the same scenario. Two for one. It\'s great.

This movie is f*cking creepy.....

i always somthing bad is going to happen after the movie cos when watched i went home and my mum told me my greatgrandad died man that was freakey any way loved the movie so much come play with us danny for ever and ever man i craped my self when i saw the film but i loved it so much that maze looked awosome

I just watched the film for the first time yesterday and it is quality though not as good as the book

The Nicholson performance is great,but i always joked that i might have wanted to kill his wife too even without the insanity she is just soooo annoying in this film.
