Banshee, Jubilee and Emma were great, but the rest of the acting was terrible. But so bad it's good. Also, I actually saw the girl who played M (Amarilis) at my cousin's gymnastic competition right after the movie came out, but didn't have the guts to tell her the movie sucked. I'm a wuss.

At the time I really enjoyed it, when I was into the paranormal abilities. And there was something about seeing one of the teens reveal her muscled back, whoa. And I'm not gay by any means.

It wasn't all that bad. I've been a fan of pretty much every X-book since the late 80's, and I thought this movie was pretty entertaining. It was a helluva lot better than that crappy Fantastic Four movie from Roger Corman. I do agree, that thier could've been better effects. But then again, think when the movie came out. TV graphics weren't really top notch back then and were still in the experimental phase as far as visual graphics were concerned. But as far as it relating to the comics, I'm actually glad the writers didn't go that route. That would have been too much baggage to write in. Too many tie ins to other books. Now if the series had continued, I could see cameos from other heroes or characters to help boost the story. The show had possibilities, but would have ended up competing with all the other WB teenie bopper shows that were to come. To me, the Generation-X movie reminded me of the old Renegades or Misfits of Science shows. And I always thought those kind of shows were cool.

I was a fan of the Gen X comic book, and I remember avidly waiting for this movie to premier. When it finally did, I realized that FOX had basically put together a piece of shit. Plain and simple. Bad effects, bad writing, bad costumes, this movie was as dumb as the preview and made the comics look really bad.

I sorta have to disagree, DieYuppie, though admittedly, I've never actually read the "Generation X" comic. It was the mid-90s, so some of the CGI wasn't great, but I thought this had a lot of potential. The actors were all great in their roles, there were some stinging one-liners, and the storyline was decent. I was sad that this never made it to a series. The official explanation for it never getting picked up as a weekly show was that FOX execs didn't think that the public would have much interest in a series about superheroes... though they were probably kicking themselves a couple years later!
