Aside from some blue screen effects and the scene with the toys, the first movie's held up pretty well. "Return," however, delves into dated, cheeseball territory with the bad fashions (what was Tia thinking?!), overblown effects (good for their time, terrible today), corny comedic moments (the taxi driver and the goat!), ridiculous gangs, campy screen legends (Ray Milland wasn't at all campy compared to Bette Davis and Christopher Lee) and painfully '70s musical score. That said, it's still a helluva lot of fun!
My older sister took me to see this movie in the theater when I was 8. I now have the DVD with both movies on it. I know they are doing a remake of it. I think the guy who played tony is going to do a bit part in it. Check it out on Imdb
