It was a little disturbing but I remember it fondly when I was a kid. I watched it again recently and I still enjoyed it.

This is a wonderful Claymation film, very colorful, mature, and unique! Thank god for Mark Twain and Will Vinton!

Supposedly this was banned, or very nearly so, due to a very creepy and disturbing scene where the children encounter Satan.
