I have remebered this movie since childhood and have mentioned it to people for years in the hope that someone else might know what I was talking about. Nobody did. When I watched the trailer on here I recognized it immediately and almost cried!
I think in the last scene of the movie, that guy with the tank tracks for legs fights a another red, bad guy version outside that fortress while everyone else goes inside to beat the main bad guy.
