The movie was very contraversial, that's why its not on dvd yet. It starred Philip Micheal Thomas, Scatman Crothers, and Barry White, and was Ralph Bakshi's violent retelling of Uncle Remus and Brer Rabbit made in blaxploitation style. The plot revolves around Scatman Crother telling a brer rabbit tale to Phillip Micheal Thomas, while awaiting to be freed by Barry White. The story tells how Brer Rabbit, Brer Bear, and Brer Fox are forced to move from down south by a racist sheriff, to the north, where they get involved with drug dealers, phony preachers, black revolutionarys, pimps, and the mafia. Also known as Street Fight.
I actually own this movie. Barry White and um Tubbs from Miami Vice voice the maic characters. It's classic Bashki but my fav of all times is Heavy Traffic.
