A great performance from Anthony Hopkins. Ann Margaret is heartbreakingly beautiful. Burgess Meredith is rarely ever anything but perfect. And then here is Fats. I used to own (I hate myself for misplacing it) a poster magazine of Magic which when unfolded was a full poster of the sinister Fats. I never understood why people are afraid of clowns....vantrilequist dummies on the other hand are downright creepy. It's like the segment in Dead of Night or the Twilight Zone episode titled Dummy.
Pure nightmare fuel seeing the trailer on television. The movie is really good. Ann Margaret is gorgeous. Scary and disturbing. Let's hope they never remake it.
I remember watching the commercial for this movie and having nighmares for weeks!!I was 9 years old and everytime it came on tv I ran to my bedroom! I wasn't able to watch it until I was older and it was on VHS, pretty good story, the dummy is still pretty creepy though, even the poster gives me chills still! : )
