"I yam what I yam and I yam what I yam that I yam"

This is a weird movie. I like it!

The film somewhat suffered by being directed by Robert Altman, who has a rep for making long, meandering films, heavy with improv. The sets/costumes/characterizations are absolutely wonderful, but it suffers from bad pacing, virtually no story and a bunch of forgetable/annoying songs.

That said, this was a childhood favorite of mine... and I LOVED that Shelly DuVall's "He Needs Me" was featured heavily in "Punch-Drunk Love."

Popeye was on HBO Family today. I enjoyed watching it.

The movie version was just as good as the cartoon! They even managed to capture the cartoon elements and put them into a live-action film! The only reason why its a musical is because they'd actually sing in the cartoons as well, sometimes...

Popeye is an ok movie if you like to watch musicals of any kind. I've seen the movie version of Popeye only a few times.
