After a strange noise rattles the Hundred Acre Wood in the middle of the night, Winnie the Pooh and his friends awaken to find several footprints in the ground, which are perfectly round. They come to the conclusion that the footprints are those of a heffalump, and all go out to try and catch it. Roo soon ventures out on his own and finds the creature, a pink elephant-like species named Heffridge Trumpler Brompet Heffalump IV or "Lumpy" for short. He becomes friends with the creature who just wants to find his way home, after having accidently wandered into the Hundred Acre Wood, and is too scared of the creatures there. Roo and his new friend Lumpy then decide to team up and find the others hopefully to return Lumpy home.
