The Land Before Time

Littlefoot, a brontosaurus child, must fend for himself when his mother is killed (shades of Bambi). With several other orphaned dinosaurs, Littlefoot seeks out the fabled Great Valley, where food and shelter is plentiful. Along the way, the kiddie dinos learn several vital (and politically correct) life lessons, all the while keeping themselves scarce whenever the fierce tyrannosauri gallumph into view. An imaginary prehistoric film: With the voice talents of Judith Barsi, Burke Byrnes, Gabriel Damon, Pat Hingle in both his narrative and rooting roles, Candy Hutson, Will Ryan, and Helen Shaver. Don Bluth directs from the screenplay by Stu Krieger; Story by Judy Freudberg & Tony Geiss. Produced by Bluth, Gary Goldman and John Pomeroy; Executive Produced by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. Music Composed by James Horner; featuring Diana Ross performing "If We Hold On Together". A Don Bluth Film, produced by Sullivan Bluth Studios Ireland Ltd.; A Lucas/Spielberg presentation; from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment.

Narrator: "Now the dinosaurs were two kinds: Some had flat teeth and ate the leaves of trees; and some had sharp teeth for eating meat, and they preyed upon the leaf eaters."
