NASCAR on CBS
Debut: February 12, 1960
Ended: July 15, 2000

NASCAR on CBS was a series of NASCAR races airing on CBS Sports. CBS was the first to air NASCAR or any auto racing sport on TV for that matter in 1960, showing bits and pieces of the Daytona 500 beginning in 1960. In 1979 CBS was the first to air an auto race in its entirety, broadcasting the Daytona 500 from start to finish, and also incorporating low-level and in-car cameras making the telecast a ratings success. They would also air the Coca-Cola 600, the DieHard 500, and the Craftsman Truck Series. In 2000 CBS aired less races to make room for other sports and NASCAR ended their contract with CBS.
