The Victory Garden
Debut: April 16, 1975
Ended: May 30, 2015

Created by Russell Morash the creator of "This Old House", The Victory Garden was originally created in 1975 as a response to a tough economy and an increased interest in self-sufficiency. The program showed viewers how to tend to their own garden with an emphasis on making the most out of one's land. The series ran through several hosts, the first being James Underwood Crockett until 1979 when he became too ill to continue and was replaced by Bob Thomson who lasted until 1990 and his retirement. Roger Swain, the "guy with the red suspenders" was next until 2002 and was succeeded by Michael Weishan who ran until 2007. In 2007 Jamie Durie took over the show until its 2010 cancellation. The series was revived in 2013 as "The Victory Garden: Edible Feast" lasting for two more seasons. The series was the longest-running gardening series on television.
