Whew!
Debut: April 13, 1979
Ended: May 30, 1980

Whew was a game show hosted by Tom Kennedy; Randy Amasia (who died of cancer on December 12, 2001) was a contestant. The object was to build extra time by guessing bloopers in the main game by climbing to the top before the 60 second clock ran out. Blocks caused the blocker to lose time, the charger must reach the top before time runs out avoiding blocks. In the bonus game, the champion has a chance to win $25,000. The contestant must beat all 10 villains in the gauntlet in the time they built in addition to the 60 seconds, (extra second for each $100; e.g. $800 = 8 seconds for a total seconds). If the contestant beats all 10 villains, $25,000 is awarded and s/he is retired, otherwise $100 for each villain they beat and meets a new challenger.
