Debut: January 01, 1985
Ended: January 01, 1985

On July 13, 1985, Live Aid was the most ambitious live international satellite television venture that had ever been attempted at all time. The dual-benefit venue concert was organized by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to funds for relief on the ongoing Ethiopian famine. The UK broadcast was live on BBC-TV starting at Noon, which was hosted by Richard Skinner, Andy Kershaw, Mark Ellen, David Hepworth, Andy Batten-Foster, Steve Blacknell, Paul Gambaccini, Janice Long and Mike Smith. The American broadcast was live on MTV starting at 7AM eastern time, which was hosted by Martha Quinn, Mark Goodman, Nina Blackwood and Alan Hunter. The same American broadcast was live in Syndication on local television stations in the United States. But the final three hours of the concert from Philadelphia was televised on ABC, which was hosted by Dick Clark.
