The Frugal Gourmet
Debut: January 01, 1973
Ended: January 01, 1997

Cooking show on PBS hosted by Jeff Smith. In each episode Smith would show how to create gourmet meals with little to no expertise with cooking and with each episode focusing on a different theme. His show began to air locally on PBS channel KTPS in Tacoma before being picked up by Chicago PBS channel WTTW in 1983 for national airing and since went on to air over 200 episodes. The series was cancelled by PBS in 1997 after Smith was accused of sexual allegations. The theme music for The Frugal Gourmet was a portion of the famous Water Music by George Frideric Handel, specifically the Bourrée movement of the Suite in F major (HWV 348). Jeff would close each show by saying, "Until I see you again, this is The Frugal Gourmet. I bid you peace. Bye-bye."
