Rugrats
Debut: December 15, 1991
Ended: December 15, 2004

The #2 longest running and second most Popular animated Nickelodeon series ever behind Spongebob Squarepants. The fearless leader of the Rugrats is Tommy Pickles, a resourceful baby who hides a plastic screwdriver in his diaper so that they can leave the pen. His best friend was Chuckie Finster, a fearful, red-haired toddler who reluctantly agreed to venture out into the open, unsafe areas of the house. There were also the twins Phil and Lil who were always ready for any new challenge. The main enemy of the children is Tommy's older cousin Angelica who gets enjoyment out of lying to the children. Leaving the safety of their own playpen, the children would explore their surroundings and try to make sense out of what the adults are doing. Some of the most interesting characters were the parents and Tommy and Angelica's grandfather who would always fall asleep when taking care of the children. The parents' comments are so genuine that they bring a sense of reality to the show. Even the parents had different lives. Tommy's mother Didi is loving yet hopelessly afraid of failure and always tries to seek the advice of self-proclaimed child care expert Dr. Lipschitz. Tommy's father Stu is a toy inventor who can't ever seem to create a good invention. Chuckie's widowed father Chas does all the work raising him and is not afraid to try his own methods to raise him. Phil and Lil's mother Betty is an energetic soccer mom who does all the talking for her shy husband Howard. Angelica's parents are her workaholic mother Charlotte who owns a company and her father Drew who is deeply loving but still firm when he needs to be. In 1998, the Rugrats came out with a movie in which Tommy got a baby brother, Dil. In 2000, the Rugrats traveled to Paris and Chuckie's widowed father remarried. Chuckie got a stepsister, Kimi, and the Rugrats adventures continued until they gained a spin-off series, "All Grown Up", where you see what the babies were like when they became teenagers.
