    A mean and vindictive old miser"Phinease T.Prune"Played by Rosano

    Brazzi)..who didn't a toy sailboat from Santa Claus..when he was a

    little boy.


    Decides to get even with him..by buying up the entire North

    Pole..including Santa's home and toy workshop.


    Becomming Santa's landlord.."Mr.Prune"raises the rent bill so

    high.


    That Santa,"Mrs.Claus"(played by Mr.Brazzi's first wife Lida)

    and"Jonathan(Played by Mischa Aurer in his last movie role)..

    Santa's bookeeper,accountant and workshop manager can't

    pay it.


    Needing help..Santa heads for NYC in The USA and

    meets up with a kindly but struggiling lawyer"Sam Whipple"

    (played by Kids tv's first educator Paul Tripp)to try and deal

    with "Mr.Prune".


    Santa and "Mr.Whipple"gets jobs at"Prim's Dept Store"

    to earn monies to pay the rent bill.("Mr.Prim"is played

    by "Wonderama"host..Sonny Fox)


    But?

    "Mr.Prune" and his butler"Blossom"(played by John Karlen)

    foil their efforts by buying out "Mr.Prim"..taking over the

    store and firing the pair.


    They also deny them their severence pay and "Mr.Prune"

    tells them that now there is no way that they can repay

    him the rent bill.


    When the pair meet with a little boy in the city park

    late that night.


    "Mr.Whipple"tells the boy their problem..much to

    Santa's discomfort.


    Seeing that he's in trouble..the boy calls to his

    many young friends.


    And after gathering all of their penny banks.


    The kids meet Santa and"Mr.Whipple"in the city

    park giving him their penny banks.


    With all the monies that he needs to repay the

    old fink.


    Santa and"Mr.Prune"return to the North Pole..

    where they repay "Mr.Prune"in full and later.


    Santa,"Mrs.Claus"and "Mr.Whipple"fly around the

    world giving gifts and the even give one to "Mr.Prune"

    ..the toy sailboat that he never got as a child.

    ("Jonathan had inadvertedly misplace "Mr.Prune's" letter

    to Santa and he was unware that the kid didn't get his

    gift).


    A perrinal yultide favorite..the movie has been seen many

    times in the theaters and on cable tv since 1966.


    This is Paul Tripp's and Sonny Fox' only on screen appearance in

    a movie.
