Mysterious Cities of Gold
Debut: January 01, 1982
Ended: January 01, 1986

It is the 15th century. Ships set forth from Europe to conquer and explore the new land, the Americas in search of gold. That is the backdrop as a young boy, named Esteban, sets out across the Atlantic. Along the way, he picks up friends, discovers fantastic lost technology of the ancient nation of Atlantis, and uncovers secrets beyond what anyone could have imagined. A French/Japanese collaboration, it combines clean, well done animation with an engrossing story line that reaches from the first episode to the last. Its 39 episodes, but only one story. Its one of those shows that you have to watch from the beginning to the end, but you'll be glad that you did. Every episode concluded with a short documentary about real life in Latin America.
