{"title":"The Mumbly Cartoon Show","dateDebut":"1976","dateEnd":"1976","description":"Mumbly is a Hanna-Barbera cartoon dog character famous for his wheezy laugh, voiced by Don Messick. Mumbly bears a strong resemblance to Muttley from the animated series Wacky Races. Like Muttley, Mumbly does not really talk; he mumbles and grumbles unintelligibly, and often uses his trademark snicker, a wheezing asthmatic laugh. Mumbly's sidekick is Schnooker, an aptly-named egotistical detective who tries to take credit for nearly all of Mumbly's heroic deeds.\r\n\r\nMumbly appeared on ABC Saturday Morning in September 1976 in the animated series The Tom & Jerry\/Grape Ape\/Mumbly Show (later The Tom & Jerry\/Mumbly Show). Ironically, Mumbly later appeared as the captain of the villainous Really Rottens in Laff-a-Lympics, alongside The Dread Baron, who bore a great resemblance to Dick Dastardly.\r\n\r\nMumbly may have been inspired by Peter Falk's TV character Det. Columbo, as the two share a similar sartorial style and speech patterns.","leadImageMedUrl":"https:\/\/media.retrojunk.com\/file\/1183dd9e5b2be3dfca26eaefa1f05c88e261919d82a47c332a1e49f67882b715e1ec99e95978b0\/image\/e6b_e794d50535.jpg"}
