{"title":"The Victory Garden","dateDebut":"1975","dateEnd":"9999","description":"Created by Russell Morash the creator of \"This Old House\", The Victory Garden was originally created in 1975 as a response to a tough economy and an increased interest in self-sufficiency. The program showed viewers how to tend to their own garden with an emphasis on making the most out of one's land. The series ran through several hosts, the first being James Underwood Crockett until 1979 when he became too ill to continue and was replaced by Bob Thomson who lasted until 1990 and his retirement. Roger Swain, the \"guy with the red suspenders\" was next until 2002 and was succeeded by Michael Weishan. Since 2007 Jamie Durie has been the host. The series is the longest-running gardening series on television.","leadImageMedUrl":"http:\/\/distro-1.retrojunk.com\/secure\/540d042592a01c837f939b491cb1cf2bf68a5c8fd839b13035f60a921941deb808fd3b\/image\/fd87b7b7947395828562ebfc01a9bf9c_md.jpg"}
