{"title":"Dinosaucers","dateDebut":"1987","dateEnd":"1988","description":"Dinosaucers was a television cartoon created by DIC Entertainment in association with Ellipse Programme that originally aired on various UHF networks in the USA in 1987, on the Family Channel between 1989 and 1991, and later in 1993 and again in 1995 on the USA Network. 65 total episodes were made and the show only lasted one season during its 1987 run. The USA Network did reruns for a while and had edited some episodes.\r\n\r\nThe show follows the Dinosaucers and their battles against the evil Tyrannos. Each group is composed of a race of intelligent, reptillian dinosaur (or a related creature) beings that are more or less evolved forms of the dinosaurs on which they are based. The Dinosaucers have allies of four humans known as the Secret Scouts who are good friends to them and help out. The two groups originally come from a planet known as Reptilon. Most of the characters are named after the type of creature they are based off of, or some pun of the name.\r\n\r\nBoth groups have a central base of operations. The Dinosaucers' base is called Lava Dome and is located in a mountain area, in a dormant volcano. The Tyrannos' base is located under a tar pit. Each of the groups' members, save for Teryx and Terrible Dactyl, have flying ships to travel around and even do battle with. Most ships actually resemble the personae of their respective owners. Along with their individual ships, both groups have a large mothership of sorts as well.\r\n\r\nThe Dinosaucers have a special ability to \"dinovolve\", or transform into the actual creature they are based on. After the transformation, they would gain their devolved dinosaur form, but retain their same intelligence and speech abilities they had in their anthropomorphic form before the transformation. The Tyrannos could not do this, however. They had to devolve into their previous un-evolved states with a special raygun, but often the weapon was meant to be used on the Dinosaucers or their other enemies as well, but was used against them instead either accidentally or by the Dinosaucers themselves.\r\n\r\nMichael Uslan, who created Dinosaucers was the orignator of the Batman films starring Michael Keaton.","leadImageMedUrl":"https:\/\/distro-1.retrojunk.com\/secure\/fe70eac2f62b88e0888aed3aa60254d212547076c4670a0aded95ade5576b2130e6ccd\/image\/3ecbca505cbf37cbdac69d368edfccc5_md.jpg"}
