{"title":"The Christmas That Almost Wasn't","dateDebut":"1966","dateEnd":null,"description":"\r\n\r\n A mean and vindictive old miser\"Phinease T.Prune\"Played by Rosano\r\n\r\nBrazzi)..who didn't a toy sailboat from Santa Claus..when he was a\r\n\r\nlittle boy.\r\n\r\n\r\n Decides to get even with him..by buying up the entire North\r\n\r\nPole..including Santa's home and toy workshop.\r\n\r\n\r\n Becomming Santa's landlord..\"Mr.Prune\"raises the rent bill so\r\n\r\nhigh.\r\n\r\n\r\n That Santa,\"Mrs.Claus\"(played by Mr.Brazzi's first wife Lida)\r\n\r\nand\"Jonathan(Played by Mischa Aurer in his last movie role)..\r\n\r\nSanta's bookeeper,accountant and workshop manager can't\r\n\r\npay it.\r\n\r\n\r\n Needing help..Santa heads for NYC in The USA and\r\n\r\nmeets up with a kindly but struggiling lawyer\"Sam Whipple\"\r\n\r\n(played by Kids tv's first educator Paul Tripp)to try and deal\r\n\r\nwith \"Mr.Prune\".\r\n\r\n\r\n Santa and \"Mr.Whipple\"gets jobs at\"Prim's Dept Store\"\r\n\r\nto earn monies to pay the rent bill.(\"Mr.Prim\"is played\r\n\r\nby \"Wonderama\"host..Sonny Fox)\r\n\r\n \r\n But?\r\n\r\n \"Mr.Prune\" and his butler\"Blossom\"(played by John Karlen)\r\n\r\nfoil their efforts by buying out \"Mr.Prim\"..taking over the\r\n\r\nstore and firing the pair.\r\n\r\n\r\n They also deny them their severence pay and \"Mr.Prune\"\r\n\r\ntells them that now there is no way that they can repay\r\n\r\nhim the rent bill.\r\n\r\n\r\n When the pair meet with a little boy in the city park\r\n\r\nlate that night.\r\n\r\n\r\n \"Mr.Whipple\"tells the boy their problem..much to\r\n\r\nSanta's discomfort.\r\n\r\n\r\n Seeing that he's in trouble..the boy calls to his\r\n\r\nmany young friends.\r\n\r\n\r\n And after gathering all of their penny banks.\r\n\r\n\r\n The kids meet Santa and\"Mr.Whipple\"in the city\r\n\r\npark giving him their penny banks.\r\n\r\n\r\n With all the monies that he needs to repay the\r\n\r\nold fink.\r\n\r\n\r\n Santa and\"Mr.Prune\"return to the North Pole..\r\n\r\nwhere they repay \"Mr.Prune\"in full and later.\r\n\r\n\r\n Santa,\"Mrs.Claus\"and \"Mr.Whipple\"fly around the\r\n\r\nworld giving gifts and the even give one to \"Mr.Prune\"\r\n\r\n..the toy sailboat that he never got as a child.\r\n\r\n(\"Jonathan had inadvertedly misplace \"Mr.Prune's\" letter\r\n\r\nto Santa and he was unware that the kid didn't get his\r\n\r\ngift).\r\n\r\n\r\nA perrinal yultide favorite..the movie has been seen many\r\n\r\ntimes in the theaters and on cable tv since 1966.\r\n\r\n\r\n This is Paul Tripp's and Sonny Fox' only on screen appearance in\r\n\r\na movie.","leadImageMedUrl":null}
